Sanctions are international bullying. Look at the mess with iran. Why repeat that mess.

And if break down anything to its basic levels, it is all pointless. A very nihilistic standpoint. Although car racing is fun.

I am curious though. Does this just effect F1 or are the anti goverment views also going to target other international sports?

I think that the idea is to isolate the regime. Anything goes.

    What a load of nonsense.

The regime as you put it has spent tens of millions building the track, sponsering the media, selling their car race around the world. If they don't race, the people be worse off in that country.

But this is a question for the ruling body of F1. They also pushed for it, as they want international coverage around the greatest audience they can find.

Ordinary people watch the race. A F1 race can hold a few hundred thousand spectators. And the viewing figures around the world are huge. It is the biggest car race on earth with the resources pumped into it.

And yes the billionaires use F1 as their own playground, which is one reason why it never be stopped. They have the money and the power to carry on regardless. Just the world we live in. Although i appreciate your passion on this subject, if misdirected.

The race i learned will hold 300,000 spectators when it goes ahead. The majority of them will be the locals. This is what happens with sport, people of all walks of life attend to forget about the heated politics if only for a few hours.

So then, you think that all these starving workers are going to go forget their troubles by watching a bunch of environmental morons playing with their toys, do you ? Get real.

    Why woulden't they?

It happens every weekend in the west, with national sports games. The millionaires/billionaires may own the sporting clubs in europe/america etc.. but it is the working classes who attend to watch.

Formula 1 is NOT a ' national sport game '. It's a billionaires' plaything and it couldn't be further removed from the ordinary Western working man , let alone Bahrain forced labor.

Besides W.C. soccer, F1 races are the most watched sporting events on the planet.

One could argue that the race enlightened many who wouldn't even know there was such a country, let alone the people needed help.
