Do not need propaganda. Your relatives could not be killed in Russia, only because they were Jews. Do not lie. The Soviet government by more than 80% consisted of Jews. The chiefs of the Gulag - 100% were Jews. In Canada, a large Ukrainian diaspora. I'm wondering, do you know that 95% of the personnel of the Ukrainian NKVD were Jews? Once again, do not need false propaganda.

    P/S/
By the way, turned out to be Jack the Ripper a Polish Jew. Poland, while part of the Russian Empire. Your relatives - immigrants of the Russia and, if I'm not mistaken, the DNA analysis were taken from an unknown descendant of "Ripper" from Canada... You - a Jew and an expert on Russia. What conclusions can you draw?

It is hard to measure scientifically, which nation is superior morally, because morality itself does not fit to be considered a scientific category for serious research. Nevertheless, in each political situation, we judge, according to our moral standards. The ongoing Ukrainian crisis began as a result of the coup against legitimate government in Kiev. We all have "bad" governments in our countries. However, if we have a constitution, we elect new ones. In Ukraine it happened as a form of aggression committed by EU and USA. In this situation Russians are morally correct.

Uh no I do not find your comments healthy. I find your constant references to Christianity, homosexuality, and now dancing in temples let alone family values a tad insane and so I was responding directly to your comments.

Think of me as a person just trying to talk you down from a ledge before you land on a car and make a mess.

Get back to me when you can explain your preoccupation with homosexuality, Christianity and dancing in temples.

Lol as for you now suggesting I am not mentally healthy your point?

    That was funny,

You illustrate a political bias when offering your interpretation of morality which I contend renders your conclusion flawed.

Using your reasoning, necessarily anyone who does not agree with Putin's take on Ukraine is immoral and necessarily all Ukrainians who wish to live free of Russian control and make their own decisions as to what is moral are immoral. That is illogical.

Your bias blinds you to the possibility that Putin came to power immorally or engages in immorality by trying to impose his standard of alleged morality on Ukrainians and does not see them as equals capable of making their own moral decisions without his forced involvement.

In my opinion your assumption he is moral reflects your political bias not logical analysis.

If we were using logic I contend you would realize its illogical to base any standard of morality on whose political ideology is the one to follow.

In fact moral standards if defined logically should transcend or defy partisan beliefs and should be universal or in other words, hold true no matter what political ideology is advocated.

Russia seems to be just moving on and shifting their trade strategies to a more Eastern dominated process. Washington hasn't figured out that the whole world is not within the borders of the US and EU yet. Washingtons claims of isolating Russia are rather arrogantly out of touch at best.
Russia's Response To European Capital Sanctions In One Word
Tyler Durden's pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 09/09/2014 09:49 -0400

As overnight news shows... China and Russia are ramping up their cooperation...

First, as Reuters reports, Russia and China pledged on Tuesday to settle more bilateral trade in rouble and yuan and to enhance cooperation between banks, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said, as Moscow seeks to cushion the effects of Western economic sanctions...

Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said told reporters in Beijing that he had agreed an economic cooperation pact with China's Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli that included boosting use of the rouble and yuan for trade transactions.

The pact also lets Russian banks set up accounts with Chinese banks, and makes provisions for Russian companies to seek loans from Chinese firms.

"We are not going to break old contracts, most of which were denominated in dollars," Shuvalov said through an interpreter.

"But, we're going to encourage companies from the two countries to settle more in local currencies, to avoid using a currency from a third country."

    * * *

So that blows the oil/gas funding sanctions plan out of the water as Russian firms will merely fund via China.

    * * *

Second, as RBTH reports, The Chinese company CNPC is to get up to 10 percent in Russia’s Vankor oilfields, Rosneft’s biggest production asset...

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the plan at the construction launch of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline on 1 September, business newspaper Kommersant reported.

“The plan will secure state support, and we will encourage your participation,” said Putin to the members of the Chinese delegation.

“There are no restrictions for our Chinese friends,” he said. According to Kommersant, the Chinese state company CNPC could get up to 10 percent in Vankorneft for approximately $1 billion.

    * * *

So that knocks another leg out of the sanctions stool as investment in energy infrastructure and technology is covered.

    * * *

And finally, as ITAR-TASS reports, Russian Railways are set to get RUB400 Billion investment from Chinese investors...

Chinese investors have expressed their willingness to invest 400 billion rubles. in the construction of high-speed highway Moscow - Kazan. Itar-Tass said the first vice-president of Russian Railways Alexander Misharin.

"Even today, the Chinese banks, China Development Bank in the first place, ready to raise the funding needed for this project, we are talking about the order of 400 billion rubles." - Said Misharin, noting that the final decision on the construction of high-speed rail is in Russian government.

Misharin emphasized that the stated funds are sufficient to "provide funding for the project in terms of funds raised."

    * * *

But apart from that, yeah Russia is isolated...

We'd pay for France's decision merely to keep those carriers out of Russian hands. In fact, I'd bet the financial part has already been worked out.

Also, it is not part of the American tradition to be pinche when an opportunity presents itself to spend money on military matters.

Two Russian strategic bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United States during a training mission last week that defense officials say appeared timed to the NATO summit in Wales.
Analysis of the flight indicated the aircraft were conducting practice runs to a pre-determined “launch box”—an optimum point for firing nuclear-armed cruise missiles at U.S. targets, said defense officials familiar with intelligence reports.
Google Earth analysis reveals that a Tu-95 launch box located in the Labrador Sea and firing AS-15 missiles would be in range of Ottawa, New York, Washington, and Chicago, and could reach as far south as the Norfolk Naval base. http://freebeacon.com/national-secu...canada-practice-cruise-missile-strikes-on-us/

    Russian never cry.

Was it a popular revolution in Ukraine since the people in the revolution came from an area of Ukraine that is culturally alien to the rest of Ukraine and could never gain power through an election? With the help and instigation of the U.S. which we know as a fact, the Western area of Ukraine was able to impose their will on the whole of Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin was given that position by Yeltsin because a scandal was brewing that would involve his family. The only person he knew that was trustworthy was Vladimir Putin. Putin was not a politician and only took the position to keep Russia from falling apart. To believe otherwise is merely conjecture and not factual. In that sense Putin was more moral than any politician who craves for power and uses his influence and wealth for personal ambitions.

The U.S. had a similar situation with the impeachment of Nixon who was forced to choose someone for president of the U.S. who had not been elected by the people. He did the same thing as Yeltsin and chose someone with the highest integrity and who he felt was right for the country at the time.

Because of Vladimir Putin's known incorruptibility and integrity, Russia under him was able to recover from the damage done by the American backed Yeltsin. Had it not been for Putin, Russia would have been in the same situation as Ukraine, where it had been stripped of all its wealth by a Ukrainian mafia allied with Washington.

I just proved that you're the one who is biased since your opinion is based solely based on some self serving propaganda and assumptions with nothing to back them.

Morality and politics in itself is an oxymoron, since politics is a desire to achieve power. Of course if someone is given power by the people because of what they gave to the people, then it can be righteous. If on the other had, if they acquire power solely through personal charisma and the lies and spins of the press, then how can it be moral since the press can be readily bought?

Then by the same reasoning, anyone who wants to remain free of U.S. control and dominance, and prefers being with people who are culturally similar to them and have the same values, they should have the same right and not have a Washington dominated minority in Western Ukraine imposing their own cultural values on them for reasons which are purely self serving.

Medvedev said that Russia will respond to sanctions on it's oil and gas by stopping the EU flights over Siberia. This will add six hours to the EU flights, and the costs will rise astronomically while the Asian costs will remain the same. Shanghai today makes New York City look like a third world country, so what in the world are they doing? Is European arrogance so great that they think Russia will kow tow to them in preference to dealing with other nations? Well they better get out of their delusional world before it's too late.

Russia has been reacting to the sanctions by destroying the US dollar, and especially the petro dollar which Pepe Escobar of Asia Times said right from the start is Russia's economic nuclear bomb....so Washington has no one else to blame other than itself for its own stupidity. Destroying the dollar was the quest of many of the nations in the world, and all they needed was Russia's leadership. Well they have it now. Argentina is the latest nation which will be dealing in rubles.

If Russia is crying over the sanctions I surely have not heard it. For someone who, according to you, is a nation of people crying over sanctions, President Putin seems to be extraordinarily popular....

Jeanette I am responding to your comments that I have numbered.

1-Was it a popular revolution in Ukraine since the people in the revolution came from an area of Ukraine that is culturally alien to the rest of Ukraine and could never gain power through an election?

response: Your comment makes no sense. The people of the Ukraine who want to be free of Russian control come from all over its country other than the areas where there are Russians.

2-Vladimir Putin...was not a politician ....Because of Vladimir Putin's known incorruptibility and integrity, Russia under him was able to recover from the damage done by the American backed Yeltsin. Had it not been for Putin, Russia would have been in the same situation as Ukraine, where it had been stripped of all its wealth by a Ukrainian mafia allied with Washington.

response: Again your comment makes no sense. Of course he's a politician. Further your revision of his biography to make him the Messiah of Russia sounds exactly like a Goebels script for Hitler. No he is no Russian Messiah sent from the heavens to save his people. Save the Jesus analogies would you please. He's a KGB colonel who was assigned by the Russian Mafia to run the country by overseeing its government and assuring his allies are paid off and kept happy. You really want to pretend he's not corrupt and some Virgin Mary?

.Well wait a week or so. Simon & Schuster says it will release a book examining Russian President Vladimir Putin’s alleged ties to organized crime that was rejected by a British publisher because he threatened to sue them. Lol you really want to pretend Russia is not corrupt and he is the hit man for the mob. Who the hell do you think was appointed the Governor of Crimea? A bloody Russian Mafia thug. Go look it up.

By the way the name of the book will be “Putin’s Kleptocracy: Who Owns Russia?” and it comes out Sept. 16. Of course you won't read it. You will rely on some web-site to tell you what it says right?

3-I just proved that you're the one who is biased since your opinion is based solely based on some self serving propaganda and assumptions with nothing to back them.

response: No not at all. You responded with pro Putin partisan statements justifying his political policies. More to the point my response did not contain any propaganda or assumptions when discussing my position on how to define morality. Just the opposite. I stated when discussing morality we should not look at anyone's particular political ideology as the way to define whether they are moral or not. You clearly did not understand that and still do not as evidenced in your response. My comments about Putin have nothing to do with whether I think he is a moral or immoral man. My comments were directed at the previous poster and now you for suggesting Putin's invasion of Ukraine is moral by its very nature it can not be.

4-Morality and politics in itself is an oxymoron, since politics is a desire to achieve power. Of course if someone is given power by the people because of what they gave to the people, then it can be righteous. If on the other had, if they acquire power solely through personal charisma and the lies and spins of the press, then how can it be moral since the press can be readily bought?

response: The first sentence above in 4 makes zero sense and the second sentence contradicts the first and makes even less sense. Morality and politics are not one in the same and necessarily connected. Often politicians justify their actions claiming they are moral but political ideology is neither moral or immoral-politicians use words. The words mean little. Its the actions that are put into practice that define whether they are moral or immoral. Words by themselves are only that. Clearly that is a difficult concept for you to grasp so let me put it in simpler terms, morality is not defined by what we say, but in fact by what we do.

5-Washington dominated minority in Western Ukraine imposing their own cultural values on them for reasons which are purely self serving.

response: You simply reflect your usual anti US bias. Your statement would have us believe Ukrainians are all dupes of the US. They do not think for themselves according to you for if they did they would welcome Putin as their new Jesus come to save them right? Wrong.

Ukranians not you decide what is right for them. Ukrainians, not you, not Putin, not the Putin parrots on this forum define their destiny-they do.

Where do you get off telling them who their savior should be? What are you now High Priestess of Putianism? What next will you burn them at the stake if they don't covert.

Now Jeannette do you even have a clue who Putin is? You so sure he's Jesus?

It is now known Putin spent his early years working as a Russian intelligence operative in East Germany, and then assumed the leadership of the Federal Security Service (FSB), previously known as the KGB.

What do you think Jeanette, his climb to the top did not require political manouvers? He just rose to the top because he was divine? He floated there did he?

We know to get anywhere in the former KGB you had to be ruthless. He didn't get to the top being some divine essence. He got there with brutal force.

In 1999, Putinwent from prime minister to president a few months later. You think that was facilitated by some holy intervention?

In 2008, Putin went back to prime minister then back in 2012 to president. What you want to tell me the election was not fixed? Give me a break.

The mob boss Berezovsky and his allies orchestrated Putin’s rise to power.

After Putin assumed the presidency in 1999, Putin went public and claimed to threaten to file criminal charges against Berezovsky and a few oligarchs who were close allies of Berezovsky and yet Berezovsky left Russia with no problems at all with all his wealth and financial connections to Russia left in tact. You can trace the financial networks to London, Cyprus, Malta Switzerland, Bermuda, Cayman Islands to name but a few places.

Putin put on a script that while Berezovsky got him to power, Putin would now cleanse Russia of financial corruption.

Yeltsin had nothing to do with Putin's appointment. Get your facts straight.

The script Putin played as being savior of Russia that you buy into has long been exposed. His ties with Berezovsky continued and Putin and Berezovsky continued past 2000 holding meetings. Berezovsky's continued business dealings through the Russian intelligence services continued.

The Russian media that exposed this duplicity was shut down. Go find out what happened. Go find out how many journalists disappeared thanks to your Russian Jesus.

How is it the Russian mob of whom Berezovsky’ was a partner to this day to operate in Russia with Putin's full protection?

You want to pretend your Russian Jesus does not act as protector of the Russian mafia running his country?

The fact is Berezovsky went to London and told the West, you wan to do business with Russia, you do it through me. Putin's my boy. I run the show.

You Jeanette need to read up on the Russian mob. Really you do.

Before you describe Russia as the new heaven and Putin as its Jesus look.

The Russian organized crime syndicate is a complex, intricate, international network that dominates Russian society and as I stated engages in extortion, fraud, cargo theft, prostitution, human trafficking, pornography, the sale of weapons, radioactive materials, drugs .

The fact is the Russian mafia controls the entire Russian market through state-run enterprises.

All Putin is-is a mafia stooge. He's a stooge, no more no less. The government he runs is entirely controlled by the mob. Always was, always will be. Putin is nothing. If he were for any reason to cross the mob he's expendable. He's just another Jimmy Hoffa and like all Jimmy Hoffas, if he gets too big for his tiny little boots, he's done like dinner.

There is no distinction in Russia between criminal enterprises and the government Jeanette so before you accuse Ukrainians of being Washington mafia stooges look again. They are anything but the stooges of the US or Russia. They are just people, like you and me trying to do what is best for their people. Stop trying to shove Putin down their throat with this bull crap reference to them being US stooges.

There is nothing in the Ukraine for the US. Not a damn thing and its precisely why Obama has not done a damn thing. He thinks its a European problem that has nothing to do with the US. He repeated this again just last night.

Obama lives in a world where the US withdraws from the external and remains internal. He has imitating Woodrow Wilson and the policies of Wilson proved disastrous and allowed WW1 to thrive until the reluctant Americans finally got involved and tipped the scales.

The US is not the mafia you would love to depict them as. That is simply your anti US bias.

You couldn't possibly imagine the US as anything but the enemy.

Save it. This thread was spinning moral justification for what Putin did. I am saying he is a cold blooded hit man. No more no less.

You want to talk morality get back to me when you want to talk about say Martin Luther King or maybe Ghandi I suppose but to liken this man to Jesus as you have is laughable. He's no Jesus. He's no Messiah. He's just a thug.

You want to build some statutes of him? You want to kneel before him. Lol. Be my guest.
    G
o say a prayer to him if you want. To me and Ukrainians he is just another pathetic little man with a big ego and a tiny penis trying to compensate for his size.

When were you last in Shanghai? I was there in 2005 and the pollution was worse than anywhere in the US (and I grew up in LA), and the traffic was gridlocked everywhere.

We live in New York City and my granddaughter visited her friend in Shanghai last year and said its development was so advanced compared to the U.S. and E.U., that it made NYC look like a third world country. I did read that the Chinese are able to build a city the size of Rome every two weeks, so a few years would make a great difference. The project in Siberia with the Russians will cost seventy billion and will be the largest project ever devised. No doubt knowing the Chinese, it will be completed in record time.

Does being an American mean that I must accept everything Washington does and says, regardless of how criminal it might be, and believe me from what I know their actions are criminal.

Anyway getting back to the topic, France has decided to go against the sanctions and honor the contract with Russia on the Mistrals. As one French politician said, he can just picture some in Washington laughing at the way they're hurting the E.U. and Russia at the same time.

This is exactly the most American. I mean to be critical of actions of our government is a very American way. Even our prominent politicians are critical of our messing in Ukraine. Marcus is biting his nails, because of French decision to honor that contract with Mistrals, if they are still have some value for Russia.

Seems the Mistrals weren't the only problem the French have with the sanctions. Here's a bit from Ria Navosti:

"...Protesting farmers in Morlaix, Brittany have set fire to government buildings, Reuters reported Saturday.

According to news agency, the protesters set fire to public buildings and dumped in the streets the vegetables, including artichokes, broccoli and potatoes, that they were unable to sell at the desired rates. The protesters also obstructed the work of the fire brigade.

According to BBC News, the main reasons behind the protests are the falling prices and export levels caused by the Russian embargo on Western food imports.

Yeah, that's what I call developed, all right.

So the Chinese say they can build a city the size of Rome every two weeks. The question is, do they need a city the size of Rome every two weeks?

This is a fallacy, because I was watching TV at the time and they had a map and were pin pointing where the protesters were coming from. Most of them were from the Lviv area, and the announcer said there were Poles, Czechs and Lituanians with them. There were no people from the Eastern part of Ukraine, and this is the area that gave Yanukovich his majority vote. One of the people in the Donbas said that they were busy working to support the rest of Ukraine, while in other parts they had no work and were being paid to go to Maidan and protest.

No I rely on people who knew him and the facts. Russia was handed to him by Yeltsin because a scandal was going to break, and he was afraid it would involve his family and the only person he trusted was Putin. At first Putin didn't want the responsibility, but then realized he had to take it in order to save Russia. According to Sharon Tennyson an American who lived in Russia for decades and who knew him, didn't think an unknown and incorruptible bureaucrat would be able to handle the oligarchs and governors, and was amazed that he was able to.

The oligarchs did become frightened when he became president because he said he would treat a store owner the same as a billionaire, but he let them know that the only thing he wanted from them was to pay their taxes, and to keep out of politics. She has written a book but here is a link to her article:

Russia did not invade Ukraine, that is just another Washington lie. The people in Crimea became frightened of the illegal junta in Kiev because of the language law they passed, and because of the atrocities they had committed on the Russian people in Odessa so they took over the administration building and declared their independence. In order to make it completely legal they held a referendum and observers came from over one hundred countries. Unlike the referendum in Scotland where there was a lot of dishonesty, the observers said everything went smoothly.

According to the agreement with Ukraine, Russia was allowed to have twenty seven thousand troops on Crimea, and the people asked Moscow to please send them because they were afraid the criminals in Kiev would have another coup in Crimea. The reason Washington calls it an invasion is to deceive and brainwash people.

As for the rest of what you wrote, it's the typical slanderous and calumnious garbage from those who have self serving and political agendas. I think I spent enough time answering you. I won't do it again.

The writer said they can build a city the size of Rome every two weeks, because that is the equivalent of what is going on in China today. Obviously they need it. As for the pollution, it's because they use coal. This is why they were so desperate for Russia's gas, and as I said Europe gave them a gift horse.

    1. Here is the list of people killed during the Maidan....Every part of Ukraine is represented, people from Kiev and Lviv and Donetsk and Kharkiv and Zhitomir and Crimea and all other parts of Ukraine - west and east, north and south. The majority are from Kiev and suburbs, Lviv and western Ukraine are most definetely NOT overrepresented.

    2. Crimea was illegally invaded and annexed, Russian troops were supposed to stay on their bases, not conquer Ukrainian bases and Russia had a treaty with Ukraine guaranteeing its territorial integrity.

    3. The events in Odessa were started by pro-russian thugs and in any case they took place in May 2014, Crimea had already been invaded and annexed by Russia prior to that, the illegal referendum was held on March 16, 2014 - 1.5 months before the Odessa incident.

I am just curious, how do you square your self-proclaimed Christian faith with all these endless lies and the support of an extremely disgusting and godless regime?
