Being against a sovereign nation like Israel doesn't necessarily make you "antisemitic" but it probably makes you inconsistent in your personal beliefs, or are you unaware of the fact that virtually every extant nation on the planet (Israel included) is the result of some kind of past war or conflict? Do Mexicans have some kind of claim to Texas because they lost it in a war? If not, then why in the world would a bunch of Arabs who lost a war over Jerusalem have any claim to that!? Are these Arabs special or something? Do they not have to abide by the same standards of war and law as the rest of the world? Apparently some people think so...

Virtually every government on the planet has killed innocent people at one time or another.

The American government has done these things, too.

The only difference being that Israel's government respects humans rights far more than AQ or the Taliban and that Israel's existence was the result of a freaking World War...

There is no guarantee of that. I know plenty of Democrats in WV who are as stupid as any of your mythical "Republicans" and vote Democrat to keep their Government benefits flowing.

Israelis are clearly not the aggressors. They are a tolerant, modern nation where human rights are respected for the most part; it's their religious fanatic neighbors who categorically refuse to respect Israel's right to exist, or women's rights, for that matter...

    I don't disagree with that.

That's a bit more complex. I think we can ally with other countries that share our values, and that we can cooperate militarily and whatnot, but that we should not try and involve ourselves in internal affairs or disputes that don't directly concern our interests. Our alliances with Canada, the UK, Australia, Israel, etc. are beneficial insofar as they help establish a "western" sphere of influence and cooperation.

That is debatable but you are probably right that is has been a net loss in terms of tangible benefits but I do believe we have a moral obligation to allies not to simply ditch them because they don't provide us with a net benefit. I feel the deep cultural ties between the US and Israel are worth protecting and respecting. Alliances are not always about "benefit" but about shared values.

Not that I support our involvement in such a conflict, but I very highly doubt it would result in WWIII. Nobody wants to go to war with us.

I did not say that. The poster made an inaccurate statement so I provided him with evidence to the contrary.

Bull(*)(*)(*)(*). You got a link for that. I got tons of links of Muslims going crazy because of burning Qur'an or misrepresenting their pedophile Mohamed. Only thing you got on gay bashing are isolated events that are either ancient or rare because gays are more or less tolerated in today's society.

I'm agnostic. However, you cannot tell a Christian to stay out of it and he/she still be a christian. No Israel, No capital in Jerusalem, turns the bible into a book of fiction. So you would be declaring war on Christianity in order to wipe Israel off of the map.

If one truly feels that way, move to Israel and fight to your hearts content. Don't drag a country into an illogical religious war.

Gallup has Obama up by 5 points maybe Gallup is more accurate than most give credit for. Or maybe the poll is off and most Americans really do not give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about Israel.

Uh, nope. It demonstrates just how easily gullible Americans are duped by your successive governments, Israeli whining propaganda and the MSM.

Most Americans are influenced by our media and by our politicians, and our politicians are influenced by the voters opinion and by AIPAC. If the supporters of the Palestineans had taken the money they've wasted on encouraging terrorism and spent it on investment in the media (buy a major TV company and a few key newspapers) and then told their side of the Palestinean story and concentrated on pointing out the many mistruths commonly believed about Israel while simultaneously telling the Palestinean to behave themselves (civil disobedience but no violence), this situation might change.

Luckily for Israel their opponents have been consistently stupid and counter-productive in their tactics. The one advantage of being pro-Israel is not that of preserving the only Jewish nation or of fighting terrorism; the advantage is that our ally is the smart one.
