Well Israel is the enemy for any State which has thrown its lot behind the United Nations Charter. These States are utterly dependent upon international law. As I've said previously- Israel is the turd in the soup.d

It's either international law of neoZionism- and the vast majority are panting to see Zionism defeated and forgotten. Israel is loathed internationally.

meanwhile the Arabs constantly have ignored international law since 1947.

    not opinion, but fact.

violating the 1949 Armistice Agreements by pouring in hundreds of thousands of troops into Sinai, was a massive breach of international law.

You asked, I answered yet you, like those you support are not interested in solutions but rather finger pointing, blame and hatred.

Israel was already engaged in acts of war against its neighbours. That's been pointed out to you already.

Your admission that it was Israel which attacked Egypt is a step in the right historical direction. Congratulations.

Israel and the Arabs were each engaged in Armistice violations sincer 1949. No side is blameless.

But the fact is, if the Egyptians didn't pour 100,000+ troops into the demilitarized zone, Israel would have never attacked Egypt's forces.

..which still doesn't justify Syria's and Jordan's attack on Israel.

One day the Arabs will realize that the best thing for them is to renounce violence. When they do (although I doubt it will happen) they will realize it was the best thing they could do for their people, but of course they seem to have the woe is me attitude and run around like headless chickens not knowing how to do the best for their own citizens. A victim mentality.

Neo-Zionists fear the day the Arabs give up violence, cause that's the day Palestine is born.

    Ronstar, moon, et al,

This is a problem in analyzing the events of a half-century ago.

    (COMMENT)

Ronstar is correct; neither side had clean hands.

Peace today is not dependent of the events of a half century ago. Peace is all about what you are willing to do today; right now.

Either side can initiate peace at any time. The reason we don't see peace is because neither side wants to do what is necessary to achieve peace. Peace is not that important to them. So the Palestinians are satisfied with the status quo, as much as the Israelis.

    Most Respectfully,
    R

The point wasn't about which ' side ' had clean hands or not- it was about who initiated the conflict and there simply isn't any historic record of authority which claims it was anybody other than the Zionists. They launched a surprise attack against Egypt. That's what history has recorded and that's how it was, irrespective of anything anybody writes here.

Israel didn't initiate any conflict by declaring independence.

The Jews didn't initiate any conflict by celebrating the UN Partition Plan.

people need to stop making excuses for bigoted violence.

Invasion precedes armed resistance. Blame the invaders- and the ethnic cleansing plans of their leadership.

There is no legal Zionist immigration or settlement in Palestine. The Zionists are required to withdraw.

International law, the United Nations, and the League of Nations disagrees with your very extremist view. Even Egypt and Jordan disagree.

Such attitudes will not bring peace.

You appear confused. Palestine is now a discrete UN State and no Zionist immigration or settlement there is legal.
