Modern Germany is quite something, so it's no surprise they are the most popular country as they don't bully others.

I have to laugh at the comment comparing Merkel to Hitler. What a load of nonsense!

why you blame them for using your weakness? They do what they must do. They would be foolish if they would not use your weakness.

They are more than something, and that's because they do not care much about others, they are experimenting with their EU at the expense of poorer nations, as is mine... it doesn't take to be hitler to make other people suffer, think about americans for example, they slaughtered millions in ME without any dictarorship, many even consider america the land of freedom and democracy, thanks to mass manipulation through media. Dont' worry however, things are changing in europe, extreme right parties are rising, that's what you get by suffocating people with " democracy ".

Seems somewhat unfair to me. Germany didn't force any other country to join the Euro, on the contrary, Germany would have clearly preferred if Greece would NOT have joined the Euro-zone. Greece wanted to join at every price, even manipulated their economy data so they can join, now it turned out bad and suddenly it's Germany's fault.

As far as I know not even the US-States pay each other's dept. So if California borrows so much money they can't pay it back, the government wouldn't say, no problem we raise money from the other states and bail you out.

When the treaty about the Euro was made it was clearly written in it, there will be no bail out. If the other countries would have said back then, no, we don't like this, we want Germany to pay, if necessary, then Germany wouldn't have signed it. But they said nothing.

If Greece, Spain and Italy sign a treaty which ruins their economy, it's not Germany's fault. If you are a sovereign state you are responsible for yourself.

Question is, if Greece, Portugal and Spain want to leave Eurozone. That would mean, no cheap credits anymore.

That's unfortunately true. The arrogance of money, so to say. The arrogant attitude that we know what is best for Greece. Even worse, Germany was part in putting a Troika over Greece which will ruin the country, and they will rightly blame us for that.

But it's not true that the Balkan went up in flames because Germany regonized Croatia. Croatia would have never accepted the Serbian domination no matter what Germany would have done.

We have a good relationship to France and Russia. :)

It's the United States acts just like Hitler would, trying to dominate the world with their warmachines... bla bla bla-nonsense. Germany rules by being a peaceful economic powerhouse, and that is nothing like Hitler tried to do.

People envy that, countries envy that.
And Greece, the poor house of Europe, envy that the most.
But that's their problem that they ruined their own country.

Greece does not have to die, it simply has to devalue their currency like many of Southern European countries did since WWII numerous times and were able to live gladly with that. The EURO is the problem.

That's because Iran is a (*)(*)(*)(*) up, where people suffer from political torture of the Mullah regime that kills them, hangs them and spreads terror and fear within the iranian people. In addition, radical islam is a really sick religion, which should be erased.

It looks like there are at least two possible reactions to a country winning a poll: looking for the reasons ... or getting envious about it.
I'm not surprised about Germany getting good ratings here, it is the same picture in other polls I have seen.

I think this survey is reasonable. Germany is a respectable country. People are rather rational and willing to communicate to other cultures, it probably because they try their best to learn from the War, admit and correct the mistake. And now they find the way to balance, while still can maintain the original good characters and culture, which are the main factors lead them to success

Also I think its also a safe country to live and travel. I always hope to travel there:p

The date of this post is on Nov2013.....humm....so future is always not foreseeable =_=

And the EU thing is like.....the rich and the poor with different background and different attitudes can't live in a same house harmony, it is just a natural outcome, and the US still the biggest power to manipulate world economy including Europe, still no other country can against it.

Unfortunately not. But the thread refers more to the opinion of the people not to the opinion of the press and the government. At the moment they try to influence the people in a negative way but I doubt that there is lasting harm done till now. A government has no friends, it has interests.

It was Persian, not Greek, Iran means land of the Aryans. It's a language and culture thing, Greeks are part of it, too.

We will see. European countries look at each other, they try to learn, even copy, what works best. So, who do they try to learn from, when in trouble? If they are smart, they take a look at successful economies, don't you think?

It looks like a lot of people at least want to move to Germany. We have a lot of immigration. Especially people from neighbouring countries turn German rather quickly, this has been so for centuries, usually with little or no pressure at all.
