God particle discovery is a win for science over superstition

I'll just start over.

The discovery of the Higgs Boson is a huge victory for science and says nothing at all about anything religious. One can of course draw conclusions from the fact that religion is unable to produce these kinds of reliable results (and in the event that there is anything wrong with the current understanding of Higgs, I bet it's science that's going to figure that out too), but the discovery in itself makes no such statements.

 

That is not the role of religion, to judge science. The rub comes from the fact that God has said that he created it all, from the barely detectable Higgs Boson to the vast universe that is being discovered by science as we speak. The OP article used the discovery of the Higgs Boson as a basis to use science to ridicule religion (Christianity/God) as the creater of matter. While the Higgs Boson is a building block of matter, matter could not have come from nothing it needs a force (energy if you will) to come into being and to sustain itself or be sustained by some force. I believe that force is Jesus/God as the bible says. Physics, Chemistry, Anthropology, and many other sciences reveal the handiwork of the living God, not prove that he is not.

The rub actually comes from the fact that people have claimed to speak for gods, over and over and over again, and still they do so even today, and never - not once - have they revealed something of significance. It's always just emotionally charged anti-scientific, anti-intellectual, anti-skeptic claptrap.

 

Seems like Atheists have faith as well, just in different (wrong) things. They believe deeply in their religion. A true Atheist would not care about people of faith or their activities and would not be threatened by them. But science inferring Atheists are deeply committed to their beliefs and spend much energy and resources proselytizing. Sounds like religion to me.

Better yet, I will tell you.....every man that was tested (4 million men from all parts of the world) in the Human Gnome Project has one mutation in the Y-Chromosome. That means all men can trace their heritage back to one man. The same applied with women and Mitochondrial DNA.
