    Because dishonorable is not impeachable. If that were the case, LBJ should've been impeached when he ordered our planes to stand down during the attack on the USS Liberty. It might have been 'strategic' to save the alliance with Israel, but it was damn right dishonorable not to retaliate against those who attacked our men and women.

    If being dishonorable were impeachable, then forget the war crimes. Simply the audacity of declaring 'Mission Accomplished' only to find the mission wasn't accomplished was dishonorable, anyone remember the code bar system meant to scare us back in 2004?

    Politicians are scum by trade. And I mean by both parties. If we impeached for dishonor, our presidential terms would be 1-2 years.

    I didn't either, I voted against both Trump and Clinton casting a ballot for a third party candidate as did 6% of those who voted, some 9 million people.

    Don't get too excited here. Other Republicans may follow now that Amash has broken the ice. Why? Trump and most Republicans want the Democrats to impeach Trump. Why? Because there is zero chance Trump will be convicted in the Senate dominated by Trump Republicans.

    Trump will go into the 2020 election a martyr, a victim of Democratic overreach. Just what Trump needs to secure a victory. Everything else has turned to shyt and his foreign policy is a disaster.

    Check out the consequences of the Republican impeachment of Clinton. It was a disaster for the GOP in the election. The Speaker, Gingrich, was forced to resign, then he got booted out of Congress.

    Naturall Amash got called out. Outlets are reporting Amash is considering registering as a libertarian candidate in the 2020 presidential race. Amash is trying to gauge how much support he can wrest away from Trump if he challenges him in 2020. It's a cheap publicity stunt, and it backfired spectacularly. ::):

    And Lindsey's right, you don't *have* to commit a crime to be impeached, but if we use it this way, impeachment loses all of its non-partisan power, and just becomes a tool in majority mob removal. At which point, the damage will be beyond Trump. I'm over it though, Congress is going to do what it's going to do. If it'll impeach without clear and convincing evidence, it will do so. And we will live with the current state of our government(note that the Trump Administration is but one part of a WHOLE government.)
