Its quite obvious the congressman is quite a BSer.

"Gross income" is a very specific term in business, and everything you list would be already deducted to get the "gross income" figures. HE would pay NO TAXES AT ALL on "advertising" (which would include fancy parties with $400/hr models and champagne), "equipment", remodeling and expansion.

In all fairness, the whole quote appears to be "So by the time I feed my family I have, maybe, $400,000 left over to invest in new locations, upgrade my locations, buy more equipment." Link

You have to keep in mind that while most people are eating regular food and send their kids off to state schools, caviar and Ivy league schools cost more money for people like Fleming.

    The issue is quite simple.

If you hire new workers, you DO NOT pay personal income taxes on the money you pay to those workers instead of yourself.

LOL, that is some hilarious stuff.

Fact is the weathy, I mean realy wealthy like dick cheney make tens of millions each year and they only pay 15% for taxes. If people have no clue on what the current tax structure is they can get a book or a computer program to see just how loopholes, and income is taxed.

Sallary, wage workers are the slaves paying the most tax, while those who get stock options and capital gains, get off easy paying significantly less tax.

even one wil a meger income can do the same tax loopholes like the rich, but living off a wage and salery will not get you there.

The most important thing to know when it comes to tax is; it is they type of income that makes the difference between paying hing tax and low tax.

That's exactly it. I will never understand the point of owning a big home. I will likely max out my career making somewhere between 80-100k a year. And I will feel rich as balls. Why? Because I'm not going to go out and buy a 800k+ home and a 70k car when I can do just as well buying a 70k home and a 3k car. And all the money I'll save not spending on endless debt I'll be able to buy fancy toys like big screen TVs and amazing speaker systems and top of the line computer and video games and yearly vacation packages and still have enough left over to save for retirement.

What use is a giant house? It doesn't so anything except get dirty because I'd be too lazy to clean every room.

Fleming has just made himself the idiotic poster boy for the 2012 election. His attitude is exactly what the election is going to be about -- to the consternation of the conservatives.

What "should" they be paying and be specific.

    Prove it is disporportinate.

Buffet's a liar, the top earners pay the highest effective rate, the highest share, and the most in actual dollars of taxes. Obama is either a liar or an incompetent from repeating the claim.

No we hate him for lying and convincing the ignorant that highest earners pay less than the middle class and poor.

Yes it will, this goes down to $200K/$250K

And since when is the Government suppose to use it's punitive tax powers to "target" legal, legitimate businesses own by citizens engaged in their private lawful business just because you don't like them?

    I make no distinction.

You show how the politics of envy can be so ugly.

This repub actually came on MSNBC and made this moronic statement. They must want Obama to win again, because a lot of voters are independants and they are not party hacks. He should pay his fair share of taxes like he used to before Bush's enacted tax cuts. That's if Obama can stand by his word.:fart:

They are not even paying their fair share now. They have tax cuts. The cuts should be eliminated.

Yes a guy who overcame the hardships he did to make a success out of himself. He should be an inspiration to all.

And while he is at it he exposes the ugly side of the politics of envy as you and others try to come after him.

credits ? you do know they get phased out at this income level ?
Deductables ? You do know they are essentially taken back by the AMT for a wage earner at this level of income?

perhaps you shot your load and missed with your cutesy "educated" comment.
