Yet I do agree with one part of your OP, Statistikhengst, about the double-standard we sometimes/frequently see in, "Republican Family Values."

But, as long as SHE is not decrying OTHERS' infidelities-- HYPOCRISY is a very ugly quality to me, and speaks poorly of a person's overall character, regardless of the specific issue-- this is not a concern in my mind. But thanks for the entertaining reading, nonetheless!

Back to the Republican slant, though: I do recall a bit of fuss being raised by Republicans in Congress over a matter of a BJ in the oval office, received by one President Bill Clinton. Since I try not to stereotype large groups, based on the behavior of a relative few, I will let these posters-- who I think of in friendly terms, so I hope will not take as a personal offense, something I think of as a fair point-- vindicate themselves. So, Lil Mike, were you stooping to what you see as specifically Democratic disingenuousness, in giving MTG a pass, or did you take the same judgement-free view of the Democrat, Clinton?

And, if you give a pro forma, "redemption," pass to the Republican in this situation, Yabber, were you just as charitable in your attitude towards Bill Clinton? Or did you do some mud-grappling, then, yourself?

It has nothing to do with hell. It's about trust, and how we need it in our elected officials. A person doesn't take too many oaths in their life. Breaking the marriage oath is a pretty good indicator that oaths don't mean much to you.

Tried to explain this during Clinton's debacle when many said, "What does it matter?" It matters that our leaders are trustworthy when they swear to defend us.

 

If fidelity was a requirement Washington would be a pretty lonely place to be.
