Hard to say she had NOTHING to do with Lugar losing. At least if you believe the Washington Post:

Well, you did admit you allowed a pundit and reality tv star to determine who you were going to vote for.

Perhaps you and the other poster should discuss Lugar. I have nothing to do with it.

The agendized left leaning main stream press set out to destroy her from the start. Palin got the exact opposite treatment of the softball, warm and fuzzy interviews and leading questions given to Candidate Barrack Obama.

In the end, it really amounted to a press orchestrated political assassination.

How can you believe in representative democracy and also think that the voters are idiots?

What happened with the "Conservative Revolution of the 90's, the 2 Bush regimes? We got taxes and war and more regulations that have only led to more wars and taxes and regulations.

In reality Conservatives are busy conserving the very unique US style of Communism; They just call it "Capitalism."

Anyone with half a brain (that excludes conservatives, of course), will be asking, 'who cares what Sarah Palin thinks?'-seeing as thinking hasn't exactly been her strong suit in the past...
Yeah, you go Sarah-and as far away from grown-up politics as you can...

Experience, maybe? You managed to vote-in a brain-dead hick as POTUS, twice. That takes some epic idiocy.

Really? So how in your view does representative democracy work when the voters are idiots?

I am sorry, I have no desire to go off on some philosophical tangent that has nothing to do with Palin's endorsements.

Dewhurst ran a pitiful disgusting campaign which consisted primarily of "Ted Cruz, he's an ATTORNEY!"

I would have disappointed if he had won.

If you mean the Republican establishment, hell yeah. Dam them. They're dinosaurs and deservedly so, because they went along with the thieving dems to get their piece of the pie. Fiscal conservatism, libertarian conservatism and Constitutionalism is here. It starts officially with the firing of Obama this fall. Mitt better be ready for the change, because we're gonna see to it that he gets on board, or else.

That's it in a nutshell, Trinn, except it officially started with the 2010 mid-terms. Palin was very influential in that election too, and look at the shellacking the Dems took.

Seems difficult for liberals to admit she's powerful, huh? They really want to believe she's nothing more than a losing VP candidate and Fox News commentator. LOL, it's how they sleep at night! ;)

Do you honestly think that Palin has any appeal outside the Tea Partiers? She really doesn't. Cruz won mostly because Dewhurst ran a God awful campaign of attack ads that obviously backfired.

Palin's favorability/unfavorability was at -18 points in Feb, the most recent I can find.

I really don't think she deserves much credit here.

The Nov election isn't about Republicans vs Democrats... it's about conservatives vs liberals. Sarah Palin is a well-respected conservative voice in the Republican Party.

Nobody ever heard of Ted Cruz until Palin endorsed him... and the ads he ran against Dewhurst were just as nasty as the ads Dewhurst ran against him.

It wasn't nasty politics that got Cruz elected... it was Palin's endorsement.

I live in TX so I saw both candidate's ads, and you are incorrect. Most of Dew's ads were negative and most of Cruz's were not. Plus they numbered 4-5:1 in favor of the former.

Still, congrats to the TP's for knocking off the establishment guy. I'll meet you there, but not with crediting Palin.

I could compile a very impressive winning record myself, provided I simply picked the people on my side who looked likely to win and ignored the rest.

However, that wouldn't mean that I caused those people to win.

    Palin fans, take a lesson.

Like I said, the left doesn't see what's coming and this post ^ illustrates my point. This didn't start with Palin. She does have appeal because she's a vocal part of what is emerging in politics - libertarian/fiscal conservatism.

I respect the heck out of Sarah. She's no wimp! I wanted her to run for Prez but it wasn't in the cards. I don't know whether she would've made a good president or not given the psychotic reaction she draws from the opposition (a good thing IMO) but she definitely is a great cheerleader! At least she cheers me up when she hammers a liberal or speaks and a liberal falls by the wayside. In fact, she cheers me up with just she smile. [I'm a terrible sucker for a beautiful face... I know]. But possessing more than merely a pretty face, she wields a helluva lot of clout and for that I'm grateful! She's another reason I'm disappointed with Romney - there's no comparison.

That's as good a way to put it as any... she cheers me up, too. She believes in the people she talks to and they believe in her. Starkly different from what we've gotten from the Obama admin. Personally, I feel battered & bruised everytime I hear Barack speak. Strange too, because I don't think he even believes what he says anymore.

Update from the Cruz win. Long article... more at link.

Cruz laughs at 'tea party intellectual' label
    August 5, 2012
    ASSOCIATED PRESS

AUSTIN — Ted Cruz’s surprise victory over the mainstream Republican choice in Texas’ U.S. Senate race shot him from underdog to conservative superstar virtually overnight and made him one of the nation’s most visible limited-government advocates.

But don’t call the 41-year-old former Ivy League debating champion a tea party intellectual.

“I don’t even know what that means,” a chuckling Cruz told The Associated Press in an interview.

Then he got serious again. “I think there is no doubt that we need leaders in Washington who can present the argument that freedom works, that free markets, individual responsibility, entrepreneurship, produce far greater prosperity.”

    ......

Cruz dismissed the idea that some people might view him as too conservative to win the general election in his fiercely red state.

“I do not think any moderates in Texas will be led to vote for a Democrat for U.S. Senate who would support Barack Obama’s radical agenda,” he said.
