At this point in fiscal year 2021 we are on pace to admit the fewest refugees of any modern president with only 2,050 admitted in first six months. At the present pace we will only admit around 4,500 for the year. The cause of the problem is Biden not signing something known as a presidential determination, leaving us still under the policies of the Dirty Donald administration.

How many crossed the border without being caught?

Accurate? No. They estimate it about equal to those who they do catch. Saying Biden only admitted. 2,050 is meaningless.

By the way, Biden has been president for less than three months, not six months as stated in your OP.

No. Actually more than half were under Trump. So you are giving Biden for credit which was mostly due to Trump.

I'm not giving him credit,we should be admitting far more refugees into the USA!!! We have an aging shrinking population with the lowest birth rates in our history. We need people more than they need us.

No. Hence the lack of meaning in your numbers.

Because we are a capitalist country, and capitalism only flourishes with growth not shrinkage.

Not just any people tho. Criminals and dependents are not going to help us. We have an obligation to our own society to be picky and choosy about whom we bring in to join it. It would be nice if we could screen simply for positive work ethic and peaceful demeanor, but since there isn't an objective way to screen that, we should focus on able-bodied people with valuable skills and clean criminal records. Simply harboring all refugees is the business of healthy economies, which is not us right now.

The world is round and two many people makes it rotate unevenly. That makes as much sense as your explanation

Why you don't believe that capitalism doesn't need people to sell to or purchase their services.

Is there a magic number where capitalism no longer works? It worked when we only had one hundred million, two hundred million and three hundred million. Now it suddenly is not going to work because we would not have enough people?

Translation... Democrats demand that we import poverty... you know... who else will mow the yards, or be maids in the hotels.... That was a direct quote of a democratic US House candidate just a few years back. This is what democrats want. They want slaves, indentured or otherwise so they can revel in their entitlement. Perhaps this is what Joe was referring to when he said "no amendments were absolute"... yeah, like the 13th outlawing slavery. Gosh.. the revelation moment.

So without jobs to fill that influx then what? Oh that's right, the DNC count people on welfare as fully employed

    You don't think a lot.

I did miss the point that he thought that we were not getting enough new people, which I questioned.

Capitalism only works if there is perpetual growth, which is why it won't be around a whole lot longer in its present form. There will still be an exchange of goods and services, but based on a steady state rather than perpetual growth. So personally, I think we need less people rather than more. The sooner we make the transition, the less painful it will be.
