OK, so you have no point. You think that being a lawbreaking illegal alien is OK? It is not, and California is proof that supprting illegal aliens is a bad fricking idea, because they are broke because of them. Leftists need a fricking clue, but the real problem is they do not know what to with clues once they have them.

But, since I am not a citizen of AZ, I can't imagine what the collective desire and opinion is on the matter, and leave it up to them to guide themselve to the next step of immigration reform, both in AZ and the US.

30% of Arizona's people are Hispanic, as is about those in law enforcement which compares to 16% nationwide. I might add the Sheriff himself is a first generation citizen from Italian immigrants. He has been in law enforcement since 1954, including 25 years with the DEA (Drug Enforcement) and his last 20 years as Sheriff. I'm not sure where you could draw a conclusion he is a racist, bigot or anything other than a dedicated law enforcer.

As for the thread; ICE is the only agency that can DEPORT anyone, not the Sheriff and there is a process even after serving time or being caught harmlessly entering the country, the first time being a misdemeanor. Since it's being reported they (ICE) will no longer react in Arizona to State Law Enforcement's request, no one from in Arizona is likely to be deported, including I assume drug dealers or maybe potential terrorist.

Somebody really needs to explain the Constitution to the President, the presumed Harvard Law School graduate in "CONTITUTIONAL LAW"...not Sheriff Joe!!!

Obama is suspending his Constitutional Oath to protect the United States from enemies, foreign and domestic and protect Arizona's sovereignty. That is grounds to impeach.

If it weren't for the widespread and documented abuse by Arpaio and his Nazis, I'd be fine with this. But my mom lives there and we've seen first hand what those guys do. I remember the truck-driver they pulled over and AFTER he produced both his regular ID AND a commercial truckdriver's license, they hauled him off to jail anyway. Then the cowards found out the guy's wife was on her way to the station with his BC AND a news crew. So they shipped him over to ICE and hid inside after sending a lackey out to tell her he'd been moved across town. LOTS of such instances. In the meantime, there were 400 rapes reported in his jurisdiction. How many were investigated beyond the intial report? Zero. WTF??? So I don't have a problem with papers being checked during a crime or whatever and certainly not in other states. I just don't like the things I've seen about Arpaio.
