Of course homosexuals must be under mental treatment.

When an individual have tendencies to believe that he/she is an elephant since childhood and try to keep such belief as his/her behavior as an adult, then surely you yourself will suggest mental treatment.

When an individual comes from drug addict parents, and he/she is born with tendency to consume drugs at one point of his/her life and starts to do so, you yourself will suggest for this individual to be under mental treatment.

When an individual at some age of his/her life have the tendency to feel sexual attraction to member of his/her same gender, and starts to have sexual encounters with members of his/her same gender, you must suggest mental treatment, because neither of the three behaviors mentioned here are "normal".

What "normal" applies for our species in reference to sexual behavior is the fact that we are a two gender species. We are not like other species that can change their gender in order to keep reproducing and survive. And look, these species that change their gender to reproduce more offsprings, they do it for SURVIVAL, not so to exterminate their own species.

With homosexuality the tendency in humans is the extermination of the species, this is to say, that homosexuality is against NATURE...our own nature.

It is NOT NORMAL to follow this tendency to kill societies with this abnormal sexual behavior.

I reject the laws protecting "sexual orientation" because before making a law you must prove that such a law is BENEFICIAL to society.

So far, NOTHING GOOD COMES FROM HOMOSEXUALITY, and by consequence, such a law IS INVALID.

Lets go to the root of this issue and you yourself will understand that rejecting homosexuality is the best action to be taken in order to protect our society, our families and ourselves as individuals, and that the purpose of the Constitution was to protect the INTEGRITY of our society, our families and ourselves as individuals.

It's not like that part of the brain just wakes up at adolescence. Hormones make a body and brain male or female. Sometimes there are hormonal anomalies. It's not changeable past a certain time in gestation.

let's see how I can answer this without captain snippet taking one word from the sentence and one word only.

I have, as you might say, certain curiosities about my blood which is different than most. Is it a disorder? Some might say so but I am perfectly healthy and my lifespan should not be affected at all. So, it's normal for me. But, when tossed in with everyone else, it is abnormal. Now, if there were a pill or a shot which would resolve it then I'd take it. Again, it is not life threatening in the least bit.

So let's get to gay sex. Yes, I've seen male dogs trying to hump other male dogs but with the exception of urination and oral sex, a penis is intended for insertion into a vagina. But, it is not life threatening to never use the penis for sex nor is it life threatening to insert it into the anus of another male. Since the behavior is different than intended and the behavior of the super majority (96.6%), then some would call that abnormal behavior. But, for those who like gay sex, it's normal behavior.

Now, if a "gay gene" was ever discovered that would open up an entire new realm of discussions. First, it would be proof that gays are a different gender than others. They would be the gay gender. It would also allow the gay gender to be qualified for affirmative action and other benefits that liberals bestow upon minority groups to garner votes.

But, if a "gay gene" was discovered, then no doubt a way to remove or treat the gay gene would probably be discovered as well. Just imagine if you were offered a way to be heterosexual if you choose without even having a deep rooted desire to convert (needed for conversion therapy today to work)

Also, those who want to convert to the homosexual gender could choose to receive the gay gene.

so, although I understand your motivation for asking the question (you're over your head btw trying that little game), the answer is much more complex.

here's a bigger question. What if this "gay gene" is discovered as well as a "cure" for it? Would the gay movement support adding the gay gene to heterosexuals so they could become gay if they wanted? Would they support the removal of the "gay gene" so people could become hetero?

Would the gay movement lobby congress to stop other gays from having a choice of converting to heterosexual behavior?

I really fear for you because if a "gay gene" is discovered, your leftist friends will show their true colors. But, fear not, like with civil rights, good, patriotic conservative people will be there to fight for your choice and we'll again fight Democrats every step of the way

Why because you don't like it?

Because they are not an elephant.

It would depend on your definition of drug addict. But again drugs are not a natural condition. Your logic is not clear to me.

Except you are not the one to decide what is normal. In fact you don't even use the correct terminology so I assume you psychiatric training is likely lacking.

Nope you are simply wrong here. Gender is a social construct. (there have been many cultures with more than two genders) Actually no species except humans changes their gender since gender does not exist in the animal world. If you are talking about physical sex it is true a very few species can do that. You know what is more common in the animal kingdom.....homosexuality.

    .

That would be true if an entire generation is born homosexual. That has never happened.

Homosexuality has been part of the human condition since as long as recorded history at least. We are doing okay.

Actually no you don't and certainly not to you. Reject them. Big deal. Unless you try to deny the rights to someone then you might confront the law.

You seem to be under the impression that you have some kind of super power.

Really? I know dozens of loving families with same sex parents. The gay community made some of the best efforts to create safe-sex education. Gay culture also has given us some of the best entertainment in the country, oh and great atheletes,

    and gay individuals....

    Okay then.

We all have imagined theories and ideas about homosexuality. But at this point the scientific conclusions are not all in. So, when it comes to people playing around with ideas on obscure internet fora, I tend to DISCOUNT greatly what is being claimed or suggested.

This isn't a left/right thing to 'me'; it is either scientific or it isn't (much like other things now 'controversial'); I respect the reality that people have their own views/opinions, but I won't be taking those opinions as being very substantial until science provides more solid conclusions on the matters at hand. AND... those stepping up in a forum such as this to make specious claims (seemingly solid conclusions), are to at least be held 'suspect' for the time being.

There is a LOT of research going on around and about homosexuality. It's fine if people want to discuss it here, but I'm not ever going to give such discussion much real scientific weight.

Homosexuals (at least here on the Forum) say that they could never be attracted to the opposite sex. The same holds true for heterosexuals. If a 'gay gene' were to be discovered and could be manipulated to heterosexuality, then a gay could be converted to a hetero even though they vehemently deny ever having the capability of being attracted to the opposite sex.

If that were to be true, then the opposite is also true. A hetero could be converted, against their will, to a gay. It all depends on how 'normal' is defined by those who have the power to make such decisions.

If they DO figure out how the 'switch' people's sexual-orientations... the moral dilemma of that will lead to very entertaining discussion and debate. In fact, it would not shock me if ANY day now... we hear that they have figured it all out. We live in exciting times.

Even so, none of that means that homosexual/heterosexual people should have absolutely EQUAL rights.

Our bodies don't develop physically until adolescence either, but nobody is claiming the environment is what gives males deeper voices and hairy chests. The fact that sexuality develops later in life does not necessarily mean sexuality is a result of the environment. The argument is a non sequitur. Does the environment play a role? I highly doubt it, perhaps maybe. But saying something is not genetic because it develops over time is simply an unsound argument.

If you can't see it and it doesn't have an immediate and obvious link and explanation, then it doesn't exist. Unless you're talking about religion.

Most of it is a joke. The gay brain studies for instance.
"Symmetry of Homosexual Brain Resembles That Of Opposite Sex, Swedish Study Finds".
"Gay Brain Structure Similar to Straight Opposite Sex"
"Homosexual brain resembles that of opposite sex"
"Scientists Link Brain Symmetry, Sexual Orientation",
"Gay brains structured like those of the opposite sex"

What did the study actually show?

So 50% of the homosexual male brains resembled 52% of the heterosexual female brains, the other 50% DID NOT resemble those brains.
And 55% of the homosexual female brains resembled 56% of the heterosexual male brains. The other 45 % DID NOT resemble those brains. Thats the entire basis of this much heralded "gay brain"

Unless you have faith. Gays have an abundance of faith. They believe because they sooooooo desparately need to believe.

Yes, and the same results also show that 52% of heterosexual females have the same hemisphere asymmetry as 56% of males. So by this logic, are you suggesting that there's no significant difference between male and female brains, strictly because there is a substantial amount of overlap specifically in hemisphere asymmetry? There are obviously differences between males and females, but every given difference is usually not categorical... they are tendencies and statistically significant variances, not necessarily mutually exclusive dichotomies.

So let's take a look at those differences.

    R L
    gay male 10 10 50%
    straight male 14 11 56%
    straight female 13 12 52%

52 and 50% of straight females and gay males have right asymmetry, vs 56% of straight males. Although a significant portion of straight males and females both have right-brain asymmetry, the rates of gay males are more similar to those of straight females than gay males.

    R L
    gay female 11 9 55%
    straight female 13 12 52%
    straight male 14 11 56%

Similar findings with gay females, where both straight males and gay females have a lot of overlap with straight females, but the overall rates of gay females is more similar to that of straight males.

I don't call that insignificant, unless you consider it significant that straight males and straight females have a variance, even though they have a lot of overlap. I'll agree that it's not conclusive, they don't tell us the cause, but these are signs and give us hints of there to look (perhaps to the point in time when brain asymmetry develops)

I have seen some very effeminate male children. They are not gay. Labels are so much BS. But when they grow up I have a good guess at who they will be attracted to.

If people like you would let people live their lives and not get caught up in all this religious political stupidity maybe everyone would be happier.

A lot of people are confused and their sexuality changes, or more likely is realized, after some big event or disappointment. But if you are heterosexual I would be willing to bet that you have few doubts about it.

I personally think that men are beautiful. I just do not find them sexually stimulating. I am just not gay.

But I have all the respect and love in the world for gay men.

And I think it is likely that they know they are gay at a young age.

    peace
