Other people look, especially if the person is freakish looking.

And you think he'd become attractive and desirable without the tattoos?...when you're old you're ugly tattoos just don't matter...

He would only look old without tattoos, not freakish and old. Each to their own. If you want tattoos and are proud of yours, that's your call not mine.

There are good tatts and bad...many people dont put enough thought into where they locate them or the design and reason...I have two and I thought long a hard before I applied either, years actually...I have one for my 3 daughters and one for my heritage...I plan on two more, one for my son, I want my kids with me always... and maybe another for my heritage, which may never be done...

These threads amuse me, the anti-tattoo crowd seems to take pride in being aggressively stupid.

Tattoos are mainstream, your bigoted archaic opinions are a thing of the past.

I would say that maybe about 40-50% of the people I know have a tattoo.

Most are gainfully employed. Many with government jobs.

Are you saying your attitude toward others is more forgiving, tolerant and loving? LOL.

Tattoos are pretty common these days, especially among young people, meaning under 30. I think most will come to regret it and foresee a surge in the tattoo-removal business over the next 20 years. Their choice, but I think many will come to regret some of those choices.

Of course you choose an absolutely retarded tattoo to make a point.

You could have been a bit more honest and found a slightly more up scale tattoo, and not a tattoo of a child's mind.

I appreciate your candor but that says more about you than them. Why do you associate a tattooed person with being a drug addict? Do you have any idea how many normal looking people (whatever that is) abuse drugs and are criminals? What is the basis of your bias... observations, the way you were raised, something else?

Stereotypes speak of ignorance and the best way to shed ignorance is in the pursuit of knowledge. I know a number of people including Christians who have tattoos who are good people and do not use drugs nor are they criminals. Like I said, your bias says more about you than anything else but I applaud your willingness to talk about it here.

Tattoos are now permitted on the hands and back of the neck if they are not “extremist, indecent, sexist or racist.” Army Regulation 670-1,

I was trying to look up the Air Force policy to see if that has been relaxed as well, and wasn't surprised to see a two page explanation in the AFI (Air Force Instruction) on dress and appearance as to how an "excessive" tattoo is defined. There's actually a measurement guide. T/B = tattoo/brand

Jesus H. Christ (pardon using the Lord's name in vain)...you need to be a rocket scientist to figure out their tattoo policy. My head hurts. As an officer, you'd have to know this (*)(*)(*)(*)....or at least give the standard reply "let me check the manual on that."

    Some things never change.

    Both look retarded to me.

In 20-30 years, both will just be greenish-blue blobs like the old man in my previous post.

We are all born to die, those globs won't change a thing in the long run.

It depends, but I generally do not approve of visible tattoos. Small ones used to not bother me, but people have gone insane with the sizes and locations of some of theirs. I used to think the same thing about them I do about people with insane finger nails and crazy weaves until I found out that the later groups often do them themselves--you are wasting you money on something that will work against you if you are seeking job/advancement.

:roflol: I love the thought behind it ...but yeah thats what I mean about not putting enough thought into it beforehand...two of my daughters have tatts but they took my advice and thought long and hard about design and location and then they thought about it some more getting feedback from other people, at least a year long process in both cases...it helps that two of daughters are professional artists and the third is talented in that department as well...

It's good that your daughters were smart enough to take advice.

No doubt many of those regretting their tattoos got them spur of the moment or while intoxicated.
