How do you feel about tattooed people?

They are not smart.

I don't have any myself, but I'm kind of in the minority among the people I know. My girlfriend has a nautical star over her right scapula. I think it's cute.

 

I don't have any tattoo and I don't see me getting one. Ultimately, it is a choice they have to make AND live with. How you see it depends on your personality; conservative or liberal kinda thing. Still though, I have seen some of them wishing they hadn't taken a tattoo when they did. I understand it can be pretty expensive to remove it. My advise to those who want to get it for the first time is, think first and be sure you will still want it ten, twenty years from now.

 

I don't of any professional tattoo shops where you can wander in off the street stoned and get inked...every one I know of requires you book an appointment days, weeks or if they're really good months in advance and the art work is planned in advance not a spur of the moment decision...that usually eliminates spontaneous drunken/stoned occurrences...

 

It's a subjective...as already dicussed there is a difference between someone with a offensive anti social messages on their face and someone with a tribal/cultural marking...

In my local starbucks there is a young barista who has some extreme body modifications/implants under his skin...no one cares, he's polite, professional and good at his job and that's all that management and the clientele care about...

Yes, but to be honest about it the sticker read, "Don't laugh at this junker. My Lamborghini Veneno is in the shop." Everything is relative I suppose. I have never cared about tattoos one way or the other. I don't have any but my father had one and I have friends with tattoos. They are a non-issue in my life.

 

So, how do I fit the profile?

I am a senior scientist in industry. I earn a healthy 6 figure salary. I think my friends would say I have good taste. I like to treat myself and wife to some nice things - good restaurants, good wine. I am extremely well travelled and have visited every continent - last year I travelled internationally the equivalent of round the world a dozen times. I am very well read and as well as my science qualifications - B.Sc. and Masters, I am also a qualified lawyer.

I have three tattoos.

 

Its like everything else in the world. There are good ones and bad ones. Ive seen both sides also and I admit lately Ive seen some that might be consdered bad.
Mine is small,beautiful and hidden about 75% of the time. Never regreted it and doubt I ever will.

 

I have no problem with tats. My wife has two, one of which I bought for her. I however have none. I figure that you just can't improve perfection.

 

Speaking about tattoos.....

In my neighborhood there's several of us gals who get together for chit chat and one of them..... I do NOT understand her mindset.

She's in her mid 40's and has one of the worst cases of psoriasis I've ever seen. To top it off, she's very overweight, so picture this. a very large female and being summer, she wears sleeveless tops and knee length pants, so the large splotches of psoriasis all over is an attention getter.......and she's getting herself tattooed and so proud of her large "Hello Kitty" tattoo she just got on her arm. The next one will be a huge thingy all the way across her chest....

I find it hard to believe that anyone would want to tattoo their diseased skin. I find it hard to believe that anyone would WANT to draw even more attention to their very bad case of psoriasis......but m/b it's just me.

Probably the BEST treatment for Psoriasis is spending naked time in the sun. 2nd best is a 100% UVB tanning bed. How do I know? Spent the last 2 years trying this cream and that cream and this pill and that injection, all while my condition went from one tiny spot to covering most of my body. So I ditched the doc, found a tanning salon that had a UVB bed and in a little over a month I have seen a DRAMATIC improvement. So much so that I'm not worried about scaring people at the nudie resort any more.

 

Well, I'll pass that info on to this woman. She has the worst case of psoriasis I've ever seen and didn't know there were different types of psoriasis, which she said and that she has the worst one..... then to tattoo her skin on top of it, I think is so risky and stupid. Well, it's her skin and more attention drawn to her unattractiveness.......

Here's a story about psoriasis.....several yrs ago a friend told me about her husband's psoriasis and it had gotten bad. Joe went to the dr, but the dreams/lotions didn't work. He was 'flaking' all over, then a friend told him to drink Gatorade, so he did, every day....within time, it went away. I'd been good friends w/this gal for many yrs and I know her - she's not a liar. And why would anyone lie about that anyway?

Then, on my last job, a new gal was hired on and I told her she could share my office w/me. One day she was complaining about something and asked her what was wrong. Said psoriasis was breaking out, looked at her hairline and it was seriously starting and told her about friend's husband who had it bad. Barb started drinking Gatorade every day and about a week later, she came running in shouting how wonderful I was. Jokingly I said 'yeah, I know I am, but what did I do?" She pushed her hair back and psoriasis was totally gone.

Could it be the electrolytes in it? Don't know, but it worked for 2 people that I know of.....I did tell this neighbor about Gatorade and she just snickered.

 

I can't speak to whether or not it's a good idea to ink non-healthy skin or not, but my gut is the same as yours. I did have some spots on pre-existing tatts that have healed up (thank you UVB!), and no harm was done.
