Do you believe the democrats will not gain ONE SEAT in the midterms?

 

We have not lost the house yet. Were you also one of those people who said Hillary Clinton was going to win?

November 6th is coming and I am getting people who have never voted in the mid terms to support the Republican party and vote. This will also be my first time voting in the mid terms for the Republicans. I'm not sure the Democrats have won anything yet.

 

Can fascism arrive from a small, weak federal government? This, after all, is what most Republicans wish for.

If you have been paying attention, you're well aware that the chamber of commerce type Republicans – who somewhat can be brushed with a very broad brush about favoring the rich over working people – are losing power within the party.

Far too many Washington DC Republicans, as well as almost the entire Democratic Party, have embraced the idea of a large, domineering Fed.gov to rule over the individual. I'll grant you that some of the religious right are no better than the typical leftwing extremest when it comes to the desire to use big government to force their beliefs on the rest of us. This is why it's much better to compare statists vs non-statists when examining political parties.

There is a growing libertarian movement within the Republican Party. Compare this with the growing reliance on identity politics and the desire for a powerful central government by the Democratic Party; surely you are not taking the side of this extreme leftist cult as a hope against fascism?

 

Of course they will gain seats but will it be enough to take the house or senate? We won't know until the mid terms are over. Many republicans vote on the voting day if I remember right...

You should always vote 3rd party. If you think the DP represents and stands up for working people, you have paid zero attention to what has happened to the DP since clinton, in the 90s.

Actually we ARE for the working men and woman in this country. Did we not win over the blue collar working force after promising them more jobs and then turn around and give them the best economy in decades with a record low unemployment level? More blacks and people working under Trump then there was under Obama so you are wrong.

 

You guys are losing. That does not mean you can't pick up some seats. Even if you take back the house and lose the senate your still losing and I talk to many who don't even bother voting in the mid terms. The real test for you will come in 2020.

Having said that I think the Republicans may come out in force on November 6th and pull off another big day of winning for us.

I am also doing my part. This is my first mid terms I am voting in and I am getting several other first timers for the mid terms to vote for Republicans here in Iowa. I am reminding everyone I know who supports the Republicans to vote and even talking to African Americans to try and get them to support us.

Interestingly I had one African on the job yesterday tell me he did not like how Trump talked and could not support him but turned around and said he hated Obama and Hillary. African Americans are not all for the Democratic party and we just have to work harder to win them over.

Winning 5 seats and still losing the house and senate would not = winning. It would be seen as a big loss for your party. That is just an example. You do not know what you are talking about.

In the medieval times some battles were won at such a high price in soldiers that they were still considered a defeat. So does that make more sense for you?

You can't say 100% that the Democrats will take back the house. Anything is possible and Republicans love to get out and vote on voting day. Early voting means nothing.

 

We have done more for the working men and woman in the last 2 years than Obama did in the last 8 years. That is not winning for your side.

It's all about context.

Obama and the Democrats, for example, lost more congressional seats in the 2010 and 2012 midterms than any political party going back almost 100 years, as well as losing both houses of congress. This was clearly a rebuke to Obama and the Democrats in general.

The media, for months, has been telling us Republicans will lose seats. But if Trump does not lose the number of seats Obama did in his first midterm (63 House, 6 Senate) what will this mean?
