Beats a firing squad, but I would rather be left alone and pay taxes that support all kinds of entitlements including welfare and medicaid as long as those programs attempt to correct the problems that cause poverty in the first place ,,, the structure of the programs themselves.

I say again: coming together does not mean that we cease to be a country of laws. Trump is a proven criminal and, as such, needs to pay for his crimes.

But this isn't about a cult of personality. Agree with him politically or not, it's not about him. It's about our country. And our country goes way beyond Trump, Biden or... any politician whatsoever.

 

It's not up to Democrats to "do" something to unite us when they are not in power. It'sTrump and Republicans who have been in power.

I think that is the ONLY real alternative for those on the other side of the aisle. They either create a new political party, or let the conservative party fracture into dozens of smaller enclaves with no vast majority.

Look, wake up and try to understand. This is the 21st century, not the middle of the 20th. There is no China and there is no America as you think of them either now or in the past, and what Pat Buchanan and Lou Dobbs have told you is a fond memory never existed anyway. When the ACA passed, my wife was self-employed & uninsured. We also tried getting her on it, but couldn't do it. So I understand your feelings. But there's more of value here than just me or my wife. The ACA was imperfect. It had a lot of short comings & limitations. It was not a solution to the national problem. But it did allow around 20 million additional Americans access to medical care who didn't have it before. As an American who cares about human rights & who cares about my country having compassion, I support the ACA until something better can be devised. Unlike Trump, I don't believe everything has to benefit me personally, or it's disposable. I care about other Americans too.

Well it sure did nothing for me, I had a kidney stone and paid out of pocket for an ultrasound and urologist, still have over a 1K bill for the MRI or whatever that big scanner was they put me in in the ER. I'm paying 20$ a month on that.
