A long time ago. Plenty of Whigs became Republicans. Didn't say they couldn't Fallacy Fallacy. There is nothing "no true scotsman" about saying that Will, McCain, and Bush are not Conservatives... They are not Conservatives because they do not aim to preserve/defend the Constitution, plain and simple. Republican and Conservative are not the same thing...
President Joe Biden. VP Kamala Harris. You are all cordially invited to the inauguration on January 20, 2021. Please arrive early as it will probably be standing room only.
Yeah, and this guy's going to take you to the promised land Give me a break. Save your hype for fools that believe it.
LOL. There's not a single mainstream candidate in the last 40 years who wasn't going to destroy the country if elected. I know, all the commercials told me so!!
When Biden wins we can start putting the country back together. It will be a long tough job given what Trump and his cronies have done...but this is America. We can do anything we put our minds and our will to...
So true. I remember the Left going on and on about how G W Bush was going to destroy the country, which of course never happened. Then the Right went on and on about how Obama was going to destroy the country, which never happened. Then the Left has been going on and on that Trump is going to destroy the country, which so far hasn't happened. And now we have the Right saying if Biden wins, he will destroy the country. Gee....anyone else see a pattern here? Hahaha
Fear is a powerful motivator, and it's how the parties keep the status quo. Once people realize that no single person can destroy the country, we'll get better people in DC.
If Biden wins, Kamala and the Far Left will likely be in charge of legislation for at least two years, when hopefully, Republicans will sweep both houses of Congress. The Progressives can do a lot of damage to tradition and to the Constitution in two years. I expect the number of radical progressives to continue to grow and take over the moderate and more classically liberal Democratic Party, perhaps over the next 8-12 years. We'll see how many more progressives win seats in 2020 at the national level. They seem to be taking over city governments fairly successfully.
Trump (for the most part) aims to defend the Constitution. He (for the most part) operates within the confines of it. ANY Democrat or RINO on the other hand.....
How so? Do you expect the Repubs in the House and Senate to just lie down and not put up any type of fight? Didn't Trump have a senate and house majority when he took office? How was he not able to get that wall approved back then? How was he not able to repeal Obamacare back then?
The Liberal pathogen is quite deadly... Once it takes over an area and sucks all the life out of it and all that is good, it then spreads via reprobate minds to the next area and sucks all the life out of there, and so on... We don't need a cure for COVID; we need a cure for the Liberal pathogen...
No it isn't... They don't fit the definition of conservative, so they are not conservatives, plain and simple... A ≠ B ... simple logic. A no true scotsman fallacy is an appeal to purity (meant to dismiss valid criticisms)... In other words, "well, sure he's a doctor, but he's not a 'REAL' doctor..." There's a difference between someone fitting the definition of conservative and then claiming that they aren't a "real" conservative (no true scotsman) and between someone NOT fitting the definition of conservative and then claiming that they aren't a conservative (proof of identity, word definitions).
The House requires a 50% vote on most bills. They can burn a lot of trees and pass tons of failed legislation, as we've seen Pelosi spin her wheels for 2 years. The Senate requires a 60% vote on most legislation, which explains why Trump wasn't able to push a lot of his agenda during his first 2-years when he had a 2-house majority. It will be a rather rueful day, or 2 years, if the Senate were to get a 60 seat majority on either side. As the country becomes more divided that possibility of an unchallenged one-party majority becomes more real. It could happen this year, and we have seen Kamala say that she would skirt Congress and the Constitution and rule by Executive Order if necessary. Because of the stalemate in Congress over the past couple of decades, we've seen an overuse of EO's coming from the president on both sides of the aisle, as well as stuffing the courts with political rather than impartial judges. Things could go wrong very quickly. The Progressives (BLM and Antifa) do, in fact, have a Marxist bent which requires dismantling our institutions and laws as we know them today. As long as the Far Left is growing in popularity with young voters, the traditional Democratic Party is in danger....and it becomes a danger to the country. Young voters haven't been taught civics or history. "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength." - George Orwell, 1984
