What Trump inherited was an economy that had been stagnant for most of the 8 Obama years. Growing yes- but then, industry had been busting it's butt for all that time, against the wind of democratic BS- and without hope of it changing. Trump DID change it. The DOW result:

17,959 Nov 2 2016 Obama market gained about 2K in one year. 11% gain, I think that was his best.
At that rate, invested money will double in 85 months.

About 320% better than Obama's last year.
The "little investor" with a 500K portfolio saw it grow 32%, which means his money will double in 27 months.

If you think the market is relevant only to big investors- you aren't an investor, at least not one who manages his own money.
