It's your argument, why don't you explain the motivations behind it?

So far, all I can definitively devine from your OP is that it's a painfully absurd and juvenile strawman fallacy...you've invented and attached a position to some mysterious demographic who believes the private sector is "infallible"....

Now we must determine your motivations....if not to present "argumentation" (strawman) in which to deride gun owners, gun ownership rights, the private sector, capitalism, and...by extention.... "the right-wing"...

    then what?

No, I'm loathe to permit moronic, "private sector flawed and incompetent, government awesome" arguments to escape haughty derision and ridicule unscathed.

Well Jeb is overstating that topic, but he is doing it on purpose to make a point. Since, far too often without serious thought, too many proponets of "no government" oversight. (for lack of a better term). That argument is made too often and too loosely to be taken seriously, while at the same, denigrating any govt work, all done, and poorly presented in an attempt to cement a holistic approach to any national issue.

With such incompetent and worthless workers in the public sector, who could blame him?

Your "no government oversight" is a 'purposeful and overstated' strawman, as well. Were I you, I'd pack up and leave before digging in too much further....

or...I can continue batting your fallacies around...

And the Obama BATF willingly and deliberately hands over 2000+ assault weapons to the Mexican drug cartels which have been used to kill hundreds of Mexican citizens and one U.S. border patrol agent.

    Where's your outrage about that?

I have zero outrage about the topic of this thread and I have zero outrage about your delusional Glenn Beck fever dreams. Mistakes happen in the private and public sector. Neither is infallible.

Odd that anyone would be knocking the private sector a mere week after Feds Crack Down in $452 Million Medicare Fraud Sweep...

We need to establish the Department of Pickles to make sure such a thing never happens again.

Yeah when the single cable provider in the town I went to college in completely sucked, had few channels, charged a boat load, always went static when it stormed I dropped them. Instead I use netflix, hulu or the actual shows websites to watch the programs I want.

And guess why they were the only cable provider in town? The city government gave them a monopoly, wouldn't let others come in. So because of this monopoly they treated their customers like crap. They would be out of business if not for government protecting them.

This is true neither are infallible, but when it comes to government they have no incentive to be efficient when they can use force to take from citizens, things business cannot do unless of course government passes laws forcing citizens to buy from them (like private health insurance soon will be). Anyone who is capable of rational thought would not want to put an extremely powerful entity with a monopoly on violence in charge of many things, especially after admitting their infallibility. Yet Democrats, many republicans and all other flavor of statists seem to contradict themselves everyday on this.

Good points. The amount of waste, fraud, and abuse that goes on in the public sector would put any business in serious legal and civil trouble. Private businesses would go under with their owners being indicted. However, if it happens in the Government, oh well. Just raise people's taxes more to offset it.

Are you kidding me? The postal service sucks. They have been screwing up mailings, package shipments and the like for years.

Fun strawman, but let me know when you find a government that has been capable of running a nation and not eventually taking it into the ground. Also there are lots of companies that have been around longer than 225 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_oldest_companies

I am also willing to bet there would be a lot more businesses this old if governments wouldn't have bombed, confiscated, shutdown, or disallowed them to start. Governments are far more destructive powers than companies have ever been.

See the thing is both companies and businesses are made up of people therefore they suffer the same imperfections, human greed, stupidity, and ignorance. That is why I favor putting strict limits on government and keeping its reach out of much of the economy and other things. It has power that is not easily taken away, unlike businesses.

Don't forget that most of that deficit was run up by a dithering old jelly brain who thought that just having a lot of stuff in the stores would make the ecconomy boom and a drink-damaged rich punk who took us into two wars on a credit card and gave his sponsors a big tax cut and then made the Post Office go broke with an idiotic pension plan.

Obama has added more to the deficit than any President in history. Sorry to throw that pipe in the spokes as you rolled through.

I agree that the pension plan is idiotic, though. Let's get rid of it. The private sector doesn't really get pensions anymore, and they pay for the public sector. How about it?

Get a clue. Cable service requires the purchase of a right-of-way. Natural monopoly.

Do think more about why some things are as they are. The exercise will do your brain good.
