    The thread title describes US universities today just needed to add "overpriced and pointless" then it would have nailed it.

    Hang in there. Remember back a few years when so many on the Right claimed the climate was not changing. Now there seems to be a general acceptance that it's changing, even if many still believe man had nothing to do with it. I imagine that will evolve over time.

    I tend to think the size of our population is our worst enemy on that front.

    This strikes me as one of those over-generalizations. I'm with you as far as over-priced because so many charge fees and tuitions that make it not worth the cost, especially when getting that advanced degree. The part I'm curious about is the idea that it's "pointless". What do you mean?
