I quite agree. I don't think anyone knows what to do at this point. There are several options, and they are all bad.

Now you are blaming me for the difficult position Trump has placed our country in. Shouldn't you be focusing your attention on Trump?

Have you been following along? Are you aware of the provocation Trump has used on Iran for the past year?

Or did you just jump in, not knowing the background, to focus your attention on me?

They kept our U. S. citizens as captives until the moment that Ronald Reagan took the Oath of Office as the next United States President... and they released them quickly, because they knew that cowardly, stupid, "put-up-with-anything" days of President Jimmuh Cawduh were OVER.... Thank God -- I remember every single, stinking, damned DAY of it!

We had a working agreement that did that very thing. Trump destroyed it.

So we find ourselves in the situation where Iran attacked and destroyed a very expensive American airplane, or UAV, and Trump takes the Neville Chamberlain approach to placing sanctions on the Ayatollah and his generals.

The Ayatollah and his generals are laughing at Trump's impudence.

They are laughing at our President!

Oh, here's another one that completely sidesteps the fact (FACT) that Iran deliberately invaded U. S. sovereign embassy soil and kept American citizens as hostages for well over a year. How many 'Irish Setters' are posting in this thread?!

Interesting take. Silly, but interesting. Do you really think they are laughing at getting more sanctions? I would never accuse the Iranian of being rational, but you have to wonder what they think they gained by shooting down the UAV when all they will get is more sanctions.

That was the deal. If the Iranians kept the hostages until Reagan was inaugurated, the US (the Reagan administration) would sell the Iranians spare parts for their US made military equipment. The elder Bush pardoned everyone involved, killing any chance of criminal accountability. But then Bush led the original delegation that made the deal. Bill Barr was Attorney General at the time of the pardons.
