We're in a civil war now. Just as the primary means of warfare transitioned from trenches to blitzes in WW2 and from blitzes to insurgents during the cold war, its transitioning now from insurgents to digital information control.

~ I think there is a lot of psychological warfare going on as well. Very CCP in nature ...

In case ... sell the tickets: it would be a great show!

But I don't think that the US are near to a civil war. The US are simply living a quite difficult change of administration with too extreme stances confronting them. For the rest, you will see: as soon as Covid will be defeated and economy will run againg ... turmoils and unrests will be more and more rare.

Politics has always been a divisive issue, Trump made it even more divisive. Now we entered our modern era of politics long before the arrival of Trump. The modern era of polarization, divisiveness and mega, ultra high partisanship. We've been moving toward that for 20-30 years now. The previous era of respect of each party for the other and each realizing they had the same goal, a free, prosperous and secure America, only their path's differed some, are long gone.

In the previous era, no one look at the other party and its members as being this nation's number one enemy, out to destroy this country. In our modern era of politics, each party does exactly that. Looks on the other party as this nation's number one enemy, more of an enemy that China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, terrorist etc.

Civil discourse has ceased, now each party wants to silence the other. Now in our political campaigns each party portrays the other with a barrage of negative personal attacks trying to portray the other party and its candidates as the most evil scumbags on the face of the earth. Folks in each party have now become to believe all the negatives personal attacks are true and everyone of the other party is indeed, the most evil scumbag on the face of the earth. So yes, we have a political civil war going on right now and it is turning into more and more violence.

Our main problem is both parties are using a divide and conquer strategy to win elections. Pitting one group of voters against another. Trying to make the voter hate the other guy more than they hate you. Which after 20-30 years of this, each party believes all the negatives and that the other party is out to destroy this nation by hook or by crook, by any means available. That their party resorting to any means available is fair in order to stop the other party from winning elections and gaining power.

So we are moving from a civil war of rhetoric into one of violence and the leaders of both major parties are to blame as they feed their hate filled propaganda to the masses, all the negativity and soon, it very well could erupt into full blown violence. The leaders of both parties must stop all the negative personal attacks, stop using their divided and conquer methods or yes, indeed, we'll have a civil war.

Well I would regard that as a cold civil war, but we've been in that for awhile.

But... there was an influential segment of both the G.O.P. as well as the DNC who felt that President John F. Kennedy was a threat to the way of life that they were enjoying and when we find out who all participated in the plans to have him assassinated we will all be shocked.

If the internet had been invented in 1963..... and if the evidence related to the conspiracy to assassinated JFK had been more widely available to the public......... America would have been much more divided even than it was during the 1960's and on.

Is The Donald feared because he might turn out to be another JFK?

I admit it.... I am overly optimistic and likely unrealistic but I am hoping that Latter day Saints..... plus Messianic Jews... plus Jews.... plus Evangelical Christians..... plus some rather famous people may come together around a possible semi- reality science fiction film series set in an alternative universe.... (example of applied Multiverse theory)..... 2012 to 2020????

Some of them might get motivated in that direction when they are behind bars?????????????

I think that you are correct....... and word has it that the accounts from which Antifa demonstrators have been paid in the past.... are now frozen....... and their leadership are all well known to the authorities and they will be rounded up shortly.

Am I wrong to suspect that some of the rhetoric that came from Canada's young and enthusiastic but somewhat naïve Prime Minister Mr. Justin Trudeau may have lost Mr. Joe Biden hundreds of thousands of critical votes in the 2020 election?

On the plus side..... could this perhaps put him into a position where he and other Canadians might be able to do diplomacy between the rival political factions in the United States?

Are many of Joe Biden's troubles P. M. Justin Trudeau's fault?

Even on climate change.... we Canadians have reason to look at the topic differently than most Americans do....... especially those who have never been to Anchorage Alaska or the Bay of Fundy to see the extreme tides there..........

After the Abraham Peace Accord turn deserts green...

Even "conservatives" up here are somewhat 'liberal".....!?

    But what if????????????????????????????????

Here is another place where I put another version of that image of President Trump getting 410 and Biden getting 128 and added in some humour that may help some people to better understand how this happened.

Even after the obvious criminal behavior of the Left in this last election, peace could still be possible IF they were willing, in any small degree, to try to coexist. They are instead setting a path toward "avenging" the wrongs of the Bad Orange Man. When they ram through laws to weaken 2A and begin using a modern version of the Geheimi Staatspolizei in an effort to find and remove "domestic terror threats", they will seal the fate of this nation. Spoiler alert: NONE OF US WILL WIN...

I am of the belief that President Trump has already won this..... and all Americans have won this.... but there are reasons why all will not be made public until March the fourth.

Between now and March fourth 2021 we will be able to use sarcasm and other types of humour quite effectively.

Apparently there will be some aspects of what just happened that may not be fully understood by most Americans until around then.

Prepare for something of a shocking image in post number one here on the Humour and Satire forum :

This thread topic is close to something I've been thinking about.
Nearly a dozen ex-military among those arrested in connection with Capitol riot (msn.com)

What if the military turns against President Biden? I saw a news article today(not the one above) where it was someone's opinion that Biden might be pro-war and that would turn the military against him.

So, now, what if it's the case that President Biden needs to cull the military to avoid a coup? I never like it when Presidents install their personal yes-men into the higher ranks of the military. But now I can see that that action does make a little sense, especially after what happened in DC, when Trump-supporters stormed the Congress.

It happened when Obama was moving toward a full invasion of Syria, or very nearly happened. The countless memes of uniformed military (hiding their names and faces) holding up signs that read 'I will not fight for ISIS' and similar was supposedly accompanied by the joint chiefs advising the admin that our military would revolt (or refuse- same diff in the service) if they were ordered to attack Syrian forces in effective alliance with IS.

I would hope that our servicemembers have a line somewhere where they would risk courtmartial/'treason' should their orders run far enough contrary to American ideals...

My opinion is that several computer geniuses made themselves appear more important by telling Mr. Joe Biden.... that he didn't need to bother campaigning.

If it is true that the image that can be seen in post number one here was seen in Germany....... before voting was stopped in several states on November three..... then................?????

What if there were two competing mobs from each left and right? Who would police/military "deal with"?

Would they assist people from the side which is very outspoken in support of police and military, or with the side which wants to replace them with social workers and throws them out in a cold parking garage after their usefulness is over?

Along those lines, I agree that "the war" is being fought on machines. People tend to be much more mean spirited online than in real life, and Cancel Culture has really thrived over the last few years.

I don't think we will see a bloody physical war unless elected Democrats continue to succeed in pressuring the Big Tech oligarchs into silencing their political opponents online. Silencing speech in the name of "unity" is far worse than allowing "mean speech" between differing ideas.

Everyone should be taking part on the side of preserving free speech regardless of political affiliation. Unfortunately Senate Democrats are calling for more internet censorship of rivals.

I just finished reading this article from Bari Weiss, who quit the New York Times last year after her "woke" coworkers took that newspaper down to Cancel Culture tabloid trash. It's worth a read:

Both, just like they do with competing mobs now. The mobs would have to be very large and well-armed for that to be a problem, and that isn't going to happen.

You aren't going to get much of a mob backing the second position, so they aren't going to be much of a problem. The police and military will keep the law, which is what they do.

If an actual physical civil war broke out, we would be placed under martial law, and Biden would call in actual armed forces.

Many of the MSM media pundits appear to be eagerly trying to incite a "real" civil war that as their preferred eventuality. They seem to be egging on a Purple Revolution on our own soil. I don't think they will succeed. The more they spread untruthful propaganda, the more people are turning them off and moving to independent journalists for more objective, and calming, sources of information.

I read through quite a lot of your other thread a couple days ago, and with all due respect, I fear you may have fallen down into a rabbit hole. Perhaps you know more than I do. We'll see how it all works out.

Meanwhile, I have a different (and more pessimistic) take on what's going on in Washington D.C. and the symbolism expressed by our new Dear Leaders in surrounding themselves with 26,000 troops. This article summarizes my opinion relatively well:
