I never mentioned God in my OP.

You will have to forgive me - I am an INTJ, confirmed 3-times over after an employer asked me to take Carl Jung's and Isabel Briggs Myers' typology test prior to employment.

After taking the test and thereafter reading the results I was floored - it described my experiences in life, relationships, and professional career so accurately that I could not believe it. Prior to that test I would NEVER have believed it possible for anyone to create a test that could be that accurate.

I was so stunned by the results that I requested, and I took the test, 2-additional times, just to be sure. I never read or did anything prior to that test that helped me understand myself more, and I have been encouraging everyone that would seem to benefit from the test, to take the test, ever since; though many individuals were angry with me after taking the test and reading results that did not fit their imaginations of themselves.

INTJ's have, probably, the lowest tolerance for intellectual mediocrity, to put it nicely, than any of the other personality types. One of INTJ's flaws is that they despise having to write essays to help people understand what should be very easy to understand - we hate bullshit and avoid mediocrity at all costs.

I encourage you to take the test, if you haven't already?

    LOL
Try ENTP with a near photographic memory  LOL

We have the power to choose our beliefs. Our beliefs become our reality. Beliefs are not just cold mental premises, but are 'hot stuff' intertwined with emotions (conscious or unconscious). ... When we change our thinking, we change our beliefs.

Beliefs are not just cold mental premises, but are ‘hot stuff’ intertwined with emotions (conscious or unconscious). Perhaps, that is why we feel threatened or react with sometimes uncalled for aggression, when we believe our beliefs are being challenged! Research findings have repeatedly pointed out that the emotional brain is no longer confined to the classical locales of the hippocampus, amygdala and hypothalamus.[1] The sensory inputs we receive from the environment undergo a filtering process as they travel across one or more synapses, ultimately reaching the area of higher processing, like the frontal lobes. There, the sensory information enters our conscious awareness. What portion of this sensory information enters is determined by our beliefs. Fortunately for us, receptors on the cell membranes are flexible, which can alter in sensitivity and conformation. In other words, even when we feel stuck ‘emotionally’, there is always a biochemical potential for change and possible growth. When we choose to change our thoughts (bursts of neurochemicals!), we become open and receptive to other pieces of sensory information hitherto blocked by our beliefs! When we change our thinking, we change our beliefs. When we change our beliefs, we change our behavior.

    People also ask
    Can people choose their beliefs?

The extent of our freedom to choose our beliefs is unlimited, as belief is something subjective, and intangible. Therefore, there is literally nothing out there to prevent us from believing something.

Some people out here post any level of stupidity to defend their beliefs they know are wrong. We are the borg, you will become an automaton unthinking atheist!

    INTP from head to toe.

One thing that guides me in social interactions is the "people have the right to be different from me in all aspects" mantra. Helps not feeling hurt when people don't understand me.

I never feel hurt by what other people do or say - I just get disgusted by mediocrity.

INTJ is the rarest personality type.

How does an INTJ person handle realizing they are wrong about something? Do they then get angry at themselves? Or do they simply never let themselves question themselves so to avoid self disgust?

Given that mediocrity means average, the average reasonable INTJ people will be disgusted with themselves all the time, no?

This is an example of mediocrity at its finest. It actually sounds like an I'm-rubber-you're-glue argument that would be made in Elementary School.

I woke up this morning because in my dream someone rang the doorbell. It was so loud and vivid I thought it actually rang. In my dream it was someone who started preaching about Jesus and when I said no thanks he just talked over me. When I shut the door he was still droning on.
I am usually pretty nice to people who proselytize door to door but there was something very menacing about this individual.

    Intelligence isn't the thing.

    Wisdom is the thing.

You are intolerant of everyone else's mediocrity, but perfectly fine with your own.

In the universe, there isn't one of anything in a category. There isn't one fly, one rock, one bee, one horse, ad infinitum. If there is a God, then there are many. To say there is only one defies the universe. In my view, the universe is god, and there are probably many universes. My view is pantheistic. Either the universe is god, or there is no god. But, either way, it doesn't matter. I think it was Socrates ( or someone ) who said that the highest point of knowledge is the realization that one knows absolutely nothing.

Patronizing others is evidence of mediocrity, the very attribute of which you have attributed to others.

Perhaps you have read a few books, except the one on how to conduct discourse, inquiry, frame a debate, etc.

Feel free to falsify it. I would welcome it, actually. I am not a scientist.

But vacuous declarations are not a merit worthy rebuttal.

Yet, you replied... Admit it, the Internet PhD comment in your absurd Second Amendment thread hurt, didn't it?

There is no purpose of the universe.

    "Purpose' is an artificial construct.

And let's not confuse function with purpose.

'God' is an artificial construct born out of the poverty of man's imagination.

I'm paraphrasing Bertrand Russell, I forgot the original quote.

You'd be a lot easier to read if you would simply italicize, instead of capitalize, for emphasis, and a good rule to follow is not to
    overdo it.

    Hint hint.
