Then why are you pushing the consequences of peoples' failure to take personal responsibility onto the backs of everyone else?

These are not citations. They're just questions.

I was afraid the delivery might be a little too subtle, but I'm not going to bother elaborating.

Insurers is what kept them from getting a catastrophic plan when pre-ex existed. It had nothing to do with poor planning. It had to do with insurers denying them coverage.

I see.... So from your point of view, you'll be getting a check every month, and healthcare paid with money that is being stolen from others.

Wow! Does that mean you're going to just be a beneficiary of what you called a "Ponzi scheme"?

That brings to mind a myriad of questions. Does the fact that somebody stole from you give you the right to steal from others? For example, if somebody steals my car, do you believe I am then justified to steal somebody else's car?

What do you do? Because you say that you're still going to be taking other people's money. So you'll be expecting them to deposit their money so you take their money! Do you go to the doctor only when it's an emergency knowing that others are paying for your healthcare? Are you entitled to their money?

Dies it not bother your conscience? if you believe in an afterlife (heaven and hell) where do you deserve to go, being the participant and beneficiary of a ponzi scheme.

There are hundreds of moral questions about your retirement which, I'm sure, you have probably asked yourself

I'm happy for you, because the moral paradox of taking money from something that you believe is "theft money" would overwhelm anybody.

So you think everyone who has a chronic condition waited till they got sick to seek coverage, do you? That explains a lot.

Sure it is! You just cited it!

In any case, I did respond. But I did it in a thread where this was not off-topic.

What a great little ruse. Have people pay much more per month than you, all of their lives, because they make more than you, limit their benefit to the same as what you get, then call them a thief if they take it.

    Go home moochie

That is what happens when you get government involved in things it should not be involved in, like taking money from some and giving it to others, that started the whole process anyways. Again, life is not fair. Right now there is a HUGE Ponzi schema payout coming. All those unfunded pension promises at the federal, state and local level are starting to come due, promised by people who the majority are long dead. This is a problem of gargantuan proportions. There is no money to cover the liabilities for retirement benefits for these workers.

In theory, the government has enough assets to cover my SS or medicare. They will just print the money they do not have backing for and give it to me. They don't have to take your money, or anyone else money, they will create it out of thin air. That is why we have inflation, because the government spends more than it takes in. You see, the 16th amendment gives the government the right to steal from all of us, and they also use inflation as a hidden tax. So it is a game of semantics. The government is the Ponzi schema leader and creator when FDR created SS. The government has the right to tax you without justification or accountability. Eventually the money will run out, and the later investors?!?! will be left holding the bag about 2050. That is why the government at both the federal level and the high tax states want as many illegal or legal immigration as they can possibly get, to bring in the new investors into the Ponzi schema.

Me personally, I do not need SS or medicare. I made sure I had it saved because I really didn't expect SS to be there when I needed it 30 years ago, so I planned around the Ponzi schema and treated SS just exactly what it is, a tax on me for an unfunded liability. I am also a prepper, because the government cannot continue to do what it is doing, and pay the bills without run away inflation.

As they say in my town: Great intention, lousy execution. I'm not the one calling it "theft". The poster I responded to is. Tell it to them!

The gov took his money. He should get what he can.
You should get a much more limited policy, for contributing less at each payroll

If the whole system is corrupt and completely bogus and morally wrong, it matters little what each person does. And because the whole game is corrupt, and because you are forced to be part of it, you have to look out for yourself.

And to answer the poster, the way to hell is paved with good intentions.

They should not be denied insurance, but they should pay the premium comparable to the individual risk, like life insurance is based on. You are suggesting that health insurance be paid for equally, is like having the same life insurance premium for a healthy 19 year old be the same as a 87 year old with terminal cancer.

The health risk already has cancer, then the premium should be say $500,000 a month based on anticipated costs.

Again, it is communism. "Each according to their ability, each according to their need".

    He just wants your money.
He already wants to uncap SS contributions and limit benefits. Next he'll be advocating to trim Medicare benefits from "the rich" while increasing their taxes even more than the Obamacare tax.

You are UTTERLY confused. In regards to people who had pre-ex conditions prior to ACA, I in no way suggested their health insurance be paid for equally. I have said those people were willing to pay for their coverage but were always denied due to their conditions.
In regards to GROUP insurance their is always subsidization. You really think you can charge someone $500,000 a month for health coverage? Are you for real?

Give me back all the money I and my employers paid into SS and Medicare with a 4% anual interest rate and I will be glad to opt out of any benefits.
