If I thought that conservatism more correctly exemplified Jesus' perspective rather than that of the Pharisees that he routinely criticized, I would consider changing my political affiliation. Professing to be a Christian but ignoring the moral responsibilities does not make one better than a nonbeliever.

Most who criticize Christians are mainly critical of the widespread associated hypocrisy.

It is hard to say what would have happened. Muslimism uses Christian and Hebrew roots so there possibly may never had been thevMjslim religion. Could something worse than Muslimism have emerged? Who knows. Would Budism have spread West? I would say that no matter what religion Romans adopted Rome the empire would have eventually fallen.

I don’t think people who believe in angels to be idiots. I say to each his/her own. If it makes one feel better to believe in an invisible man in the sky then go for it. I just can’t stand those people who want to change my mind about god....and there’s no shortage of those people.

 

I think we need to cut them a lot of slack because religion is part of being human. We all have a religion of one sort or another. Get rid of Zeus and you'll replace him with somebody else. Religion is one of those things that can be found throughout history and the world. Even atheists have religions, although they typically replace Zeus with Queen Hillary or Satan.
