The sword of Goliath turning up somewhere might cause many to look at this differently than you do Trevor2539.......those skeletons of giants that the Smithsoniah destroyed would be interesting as well......... Think about the implications of the Temple of King Solomon and then the much smaller........ Temple of Zerubbabel and later... King Herod!!!!!! With no King David and no King Solomon..... how could such a structure be built??????

Oh please. There is no evidence that any David or Solomon built the temple except the Bible. Temples exist all over the Middle East. The temple described is not unique. Other similar temples existed. You do realise that there was a Temple at Shiloh dedicated to the god El, centuries before the temple in Jerusalem

You've got to be kidding. There certainly was/is a Temple but it is questionable that any David or Solomon ever built it. Just because the Bible says so does not make it so. Apart from the Bible we have no extrabibilical evidence for David or Solomon. It is also questionable WHEN this Temple was built. Other things associated with Solomon are found to be related to a date later. 'Solomons' stables at Megiddo are dated much later to Ahab, and are close to his capital. Against the known background of the day the story of David and Solomon does not add up. Temples appear in several places. There was one at Shiloh built centuries before that which was used to worship El. According to the Bible the Ark was place there until the Temple was built in Jerusalem.

Intensified attention to the subject took place in the 17th century in England. It was all due to the writings of Manasseh Ben Israel, an Amsterdam Rabbi, who convinced Oliver Cromwell to allow the Jews to Return to England after their banishment from that country four centuries previously.

Manasseh was fully convinced of the authenticity of the Sambatyon legend. He wrote in his book that all think that the Ten Tribes dwelled beyond this Sabbatical river. He cites many authorities in support of his belief including the statement of Josephus that Titus himself had seen the river. Later on, after his meetings with a remarkable missionary, the Marrano Jew (Jew who was forced to convert to Christianity in Spain and Portugal), Antonio de Montezinus, he became fully convinced that the American Indians constituted some of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel.

Manasseh heard a very remarkable thing from Montezinus that in 1642 when Montezinus was deep into the mountainous wilderness of Ecuador, he met with four Indians who greeted him with "Shema Israel" which is the traditional creed of Israelites beginning with "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!" (Deuteronomy 6:4). He claimed that he spoke with them in Hebrew and claimed they were from the Lost Tribe of Reuben and Levi.

Through the conversation with Montezinus, Rabbi Manase Ben Israel was convinced that the American Indians were from several tribes of the Lost Tribes of Israel. He wrote on Dec. 23, 1649, in a letter to John Drury, the Puritan divine, "I think the Ten Tribes lived not only there in America, but also in other lands scattered everywhere, these never did come back to the second temple, and they keep to this day still the Jewish religion seeing that all the prophecies which speak of the bringing back into their native soil must be fulfilled."

Menorah Was Found in South America

As for the Indians in South America and the Lost Tribes of Israel, there was an interesting article in a newspaper published in Israel (Maariv, Dec 31, 1974) as follows:

In 1587, a Jesuit Nicholas Delttsu was sent to South America by the king of Spain to convert the Indians. In Argentina, he found a tribe with Hebrew names, Abraham, David, Moshe, etc.. When he asked them if they were circumcised, they answered, "Yes, just as our ancestors." In the same area were found knives of stone used for circumcision. Sharpened stone knives are cited in the Bible as used for circumcision.

Of equal interest is the recent find of a tribe in Argentina related to the Incas of Peru. On a stone tablet were found 3 commandments - "Do not steal." "Do not lie." and "Do not murder." Scholars concluded that these commandments come from the Ten Commandments of Moses but existed hundreds of years before the Spaniards arrived.

And in 1974 in the same area, round stones were found with Hebrew Menorah (candlestick with 7 arms of ancient Israel) on the stone, and on the side is written in Aramaic, Pascha (Passover). Aramaic is an ancient language which ancient Israelites used and this itself means very old.
A few meters away was found a long stone in the shape of a brick with an engraving of a boat (the emblem of Zevulun is ship) with the word Tzipora (the same name as the wife of Moses and one of names of Israelites. The name of the ship?) written on it. Does this mean that they came here on boat? Scholars believe it is 3000 years old.

No evidence of Abraham through to Moses etc. So if they didn't exist then there were no 10 lost tribes of ISRAEL. Israel was a tribe in Palestine as indicated by Pharaoh Merneptah circa 1200BCE. Although small wandering tribes of Semetic origin entered Egypt, and some settled, there is no indication they were Israelis (Hebrews) - just Semetics. The 'lost' tribes were indigenous Palestinian tribes named to fulfil the story who foolishly took on the Assyrians and were dispersed. If you read the Bible, the actual numbers dispersed were not very large.
After a certain historic point in the OT individual tribes are scarcely mentioned. The terms Judah and Israel are used.
Not all Israelites are “Jews.” Jews are only those from the southern kingdom of “Judah.” Those who belonged to the northern kingdom were “non-Jewish” Israelites. This is important. Secondly, only the Jews from the southern house returned from exile. Those from the northern tribes who were carried away were never heard from again.

Yes... I read a book by Orthodox Jewish scholar and historian Mr. Yair Davidiy back during the 1990's.... and I felt that his theories were brilliant........ Nobody is one hundred percent correct in their theories.... but I am sure that he was batting far better than two or three hundred, (twenty to thirty percent)!

The story of Joseph in the Bible is an historical account of what really did happen to Joseph, the ancestor of people in Britain and America, as well as other areas. In Rabbinical tradition we have the concept of the “Mashiach ben Yoseph” (Messiah, son of Joseph), who will be a DESCENDANT OF JOSEPH. “Mashiach ben Yoseph” also represents the actions of the descendants of Joseph in the Last Days and the times leading up to these last days. The story of Joseph in the Bible is an historical account of what really did happen to Joseph, the ancestor of people in Britain and America, as well as other areas. The story of Joseph, in addition to being an historical account of what happened to a particular person named Joseph, is also symbolic of what will happen to his descendants. In Rabbinical tradition we have the concept of the “Mashiach ben Yoseph” (Messiah, son of Joseph), who will be a DESCENDANT OF JOSEPH. “Mashiach ben Yoseph” also represents the actions of the descendants of Joseph in the Last Days and the times leading up to these last days. In Jewish tradition there will be two Messiahs: “Mashiach ben Yoseph” (Messiah, son of Joseph), and “Mashiach ben David” (Messiah, son of David).

Maybe the USA and Britain will help Israel expand her borders in the future as the MESSIAH SON OF JOSEPH is supposed to do. This is one of the great tasks of the First Redeemer [of the MESSIAH SON OF JOSEPH]: to extirpate the spirit of impurity from the country by means of settling the Holy Land. When the Holy Land is not settled [with Israelites] a spirit of impurity settles over it. [When the Holy Land is settled with Israelites the Land becomes pure]. The First Redeemer [MESSIAH SON OF JOSEPH] fights against Amalek with total warfare…[he fights against the forces of anti-Semitism]. The task of the MESSIAH SON OF JOSEPH is to remove the spirit of impurity from the Land through the ingathering of exiles, rebuilding Jerusalem, and the planting of the wilderness. Ransoming Captives “Kol HaTor” says [2.118] “And the ransomed of the LORD shall return and come to Zion” (Isaiah 35;10): The task of ransoming captives belongs to the MESSIAH SON OF JOSEPH who performs it by ingathering the Exiles…The Major Ingathering of the Exiles cannot be less than 600,000…They will come with rejoicing and happiness. Comment: “Kol HaTor” says The Major Ingathering of Exiles cannot be less than 600,000. 600,000 was taken to be a key number. It is interesting to note that when Israel declared its Independence in 1948 the total Jewish population in the Land at that time was a bit more than 600,000 which was the key number mentioned by “Kol HaTor” about two hundred years beforehand. Reveals Secrets of the Torah “Kol HaTor” says [122] “And Pharoah called Joseph’s name Zaphenat Paneah” [i.e. Uncover of Secrets] (Genesis 41;45). One of the tasks of the MESSIAH SON OF JOSEPH in each generation is to reveal the secrets of the Torah. Horns of a Unicorn “Kol HaTor” says [131] “His horns are the horns of a unicorn with which he strikes the peoples” (Deuteronomy 33).
