The Muslim Brotherhood never said they would destroy the pyramids. It is all anti Islamic propaganda and nonsense to discredit the Ikhwan. I thought that would have been clear by now. There was some nut from the Salafist Al Noor Party who follows the Saudi Wahabi ideology that stood in the lower house and said he wanted a veil put over the sphynx Al Noor are in constant conflict with MB and with most Egyptians. as you can imagine Egyptians gave him a lot less attention and air time than the anti Islamists here He was laughed out of the session. I also heard that they wanted to cover the pyramids in wax It's a cool 98 degrees today a few Km's from the pyramids so it should be very interesting to see how that plan turns out!
if there was a gold medal in the Olympics for patience leading a herd of donkeys onto a train in Luxor you would be the gold medalist Why not just put them on ignore and save your blood pressure. You are wasting your time and energy my friend
Odd thing to say and then turn around and confirm below, the claim in the original post and linked to article.
is there still space on that Luxor train? Deyasty doesn't know the difference between FJP and Al Noor
Agree with the first statement. And I think that the the OP doesn't understand the difference between MBs and Salafists.
The MB and the Salafists may both be Islamists but the MB is not Salafi. Some crazy Salafist called for this ( and I think that has been deemed a hoax btw- I will try to find it and post.) he was a Salafist not an MB
Another hoax: cleric calls on President Morsy to destroy Giza Pyramids Hend Kortam / July 11, 2012 / 10 Comments A parody account is calling on President Morsy to destroy the Giza pyramids, news portals are running with it as fact Share Print Email A parody account on twitter asks Morsy to destroy the pyramids Calls from a Bahraini Sunni cleric urging President Mohamed Morsy to destroy the Giza Pyramids were issued from a parody Twitter account online, the Daily News Egypt has learned. Several right wing online portals ran with the controversial news as a means to raise alarms over the rise of an Islamist-led government in Egypt and its threat to rich historical sites. According to the rumours, Shiek Abd Al-Latif Al-Mahmoud denounced the pyramids as idolatry and asked President Morsy to destroy them. Following a pattern of news based on hoaxes meant to incite panic about Islamists, this latest item suggests the method is effective in garnering media widespread interest. The parody Twitter account of Al-Mahmoud tweeted the statement on the same day Morsy was announced president of Egypt. The reports are coupled with reports that Salafists are demanding Morsy to enforce the Hijab (veil) on women. While the conservative Muslims in Alexandria were able to win a campaign to cover up a prominent mermaid statue last year, most cases are exceptions rather than the rule. But it is not the first time of reports that have flooded news have caused panic about the rise of Islamism in the Middle East and North Africa following popular uprisings to dethrone largely ‘secular’ dictators. Earlier this year several news agencies ran stories about a proposed bill in the Egyptian parliament, which would have allowed men to have sex with their deceased spouse up to six hours after they passed away. The reports were also discovered to be unfounded. Related posts:
