Israel appears to be intensifying the attack on Gaza, More than 100 Palestinians are said to have been killed after Israel intensified its bombardment of Gaza and warned of a long conflict ahead. Netanyahu has made it clear that Israel intends to achieve the military aims that started all this, giving up all pretence that if Hamas stop firing rockets, Israel will stop their killing. It seems to me that there are two ways Israel will go. Because Israel is now losing the propaganda campaign, it will ramp up the violence in the next few days destroying as much of Gaza as it possibly can and making life even more unbearable for its prisoners. Then it will call a cease fire, withdraw its troops for a year or two until it feels ready to assault the Palestinians again. The other alternative is that Israel has decided to finish Gaza once and for all, it will face the backlash of world opinion feeling that this is their best and last opportunity to completely crush Palestinian resistance. The military coup in Egypt has given Israel the opportunity to complete its annexation of Gaza. The anti muslim brotherhood Egypt will not lift a finger. Whatever happens in the next couple of days will finally show us exactly what Israels intentions are. One thing is certain Israel holds all the cards and always have, how long this goes on for or how many die is Israels decision.
Iran has to be pissed at Hamas for squandering all the missiles and tunnels for nothing; Iran probably wanted to use Hamas the same way it used Hezbollah to threaten Israel in case they decided to attack Iran... at least, something good has come out of it whats with stockpiles and terror tunnels destroyed. I say, Israel should finish the job and send as many Hamas as possible to meet with their Deity.

If HAMAS had not been firing rockets into Israali civilian arewas NONSTOP, for YEARS, Israel would not have to do what there are dong now. They have eveyr right to destroy HAMAS, it's weapons,and tunnels. Maybe if the cowards of allah wouldn't hide their rockets in schools, next to shelters, etc., to MAXIMIZE CIVILIAN CASUALITES for FUNDRAISING PURPOSES, there'd be a lot less collateral damage.

Too many times has the world wasted it's effort trying to get cease fires and truces (rearm periods for Hamas), which inevitably fall apart as Hamas rockets rain down on israeli towns and homes. The only real solution will be when one side finally removes the other from the board.

A war will not end until one side defeats the other. That is called "victory". I know that's a foreign concept to those who lean to the left, but it is a fact of life.

Going into gaza and 'accidentally" kill hundreds of civilians and palestinian schoolchildren isnt going to change that. By all means that israel get those hamas responsible for the attack, but not by killing hundreds of civlians, destroying the infrastructure of gaza and making sure hamas will have enough members lining up for years to come . Thats simple revenge and collective punishment against over a million people who had nothing to do with that attack ,
