Why are medical exams mandatory immigrants and refugees? When my family travels outside the country there is no medical exam required for reentry. So illness and infectious disease is a concern of the CDC. Since illegals come here with no papers and no notification there is no guarantee they do not have an infectious disease.

That's not the point of the OP. The point of the OP was Pirro's statements. Not all "illegals" bring diseases with them. And the fact that the CDC checks all immigrants for illnesses is standard medical procedure. The two are not related to each other. Jeanine Pirro's hatred of brown and black people is not related to solid medical policy. And none of that has to do with anything "liberal".

There's nothing wrong with saying China virus. Did you hear that the mutated version of the virus found in South Africa was called the British Variant as not to offend So Africans, but it's OK to have a racist name against a white country. Go figure.

 

I just want to reiterate my position on immigration. It is not a conservative position and I would not use the threat of infectious diseases as a reason to not allow people to come here.

If I was in congress I would have voted for the Kennedy-McCain bill and the Dream act. I have no problem with a similar bill today that reveals and gives legal status to these 20 million people.

I do differ with the democrats on one major issue and I started a thread about this. If you come here illegally or remain in the country illegally by over staying a visa or some other reason. You should not be able to have a path to citizenship!
No path to citizenship for people who came here illegally! A path to legality and a work visa and a path to a green card. Nothing wrong with a green card it allows you to live and work here for the rest of your life. A person with a green card can sponsor parents or siblings to come here. A person with a green card can do 98% everything a citizen can do.

I do not think it is right for foreign nationals to walk in here in violation of our laws and then be able to have the same power as those born here to vote. We need to take the politics out of this issue.

There is a totally different variant called the "UK" variant that is genetically not the same as the South African variant.

Ok, that was an excellent posting, well-written and full of material that people can work with.

For me, immigration has never been a left-right issue.

And people will be totally surprised, but I am not a supporter of illegal immigration at all.

The idea of a path to legality seems eminently sensible to me.

The thing is: most of illegal immigration does not happen at the southern border of the USA to Mexico. Most of it happens at transportation hubs all over the place (airports, seaports) where people come to visit and simply overstay their visit.

 

We were told for months that it was racist to associate this corona virus in any way to China. Even though China is a country not a race. Even though there are 47 other countries in Asia. Even though many viruses are named for where they come from.

If the media could get away with it they would have called it the Trump-virus. That was the whole purpose of it right? To get Trump out of office? Congrats!

Furthermore, the jury is still out as to whether or not this thing actually started in China or just gained a stronger foothold in China, for we know that there were cases of Covid-19 in the USA, in Dayton OH at the END OF NOVEMBER, 2019. Bodies were exhumed and tested posthumously. They were positive.

Furthermore, what undid former Pres. Trump was his totally shitty handling of the Pandemic from day 1 until the day he left office. He lied about it, he played it down, he played politics with his, he praised himself to high heaven for incidental decisions he made, some of which were indeed correct but not the core of the issue, and the most criminal of all, not really having the vaccine ready to go. He stated on live TV that we already had 100 million doses in storage, ready to go. When Biden took office, there were less than 30 million in storage and the number of vaccines that actually made it into peoples' arms was pitifully low. So, the only person who undid Donald Trump was Donald Trump himself.
