Actually the republican version is much better. So would enforcing the laws as written instead of hunting excuses not to, and so would not dropping the remain in Mexico policy negotiated by Trump.

 

It is a crisis though. All he has to do is declare it to be so and proceed to do what must be done in a crisis. He'd get no pushback for it either. International law takes a backseat to our own when it comes to our national security. Common sense comes into play too when it's obvious that the majority of those coming are not true asylum seekers.
