    • A federal judge rejected claims that the impeachment probe of President Donald Trump is illegitimate.
    • Judge Beryl Howell ordered the Justice Department to give the House Judiciary Committee secret grand jury material collected in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.
    • The House is investigating Trump's pressuring of Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Trump admin likely to appeal, further dragging out impeachment. Then they’ll complain that it’s taking too long! Glad this judge is able to read the constitution and see the arguments that a vote is needed are unfounded

Agree...there are a lot of loose ends coming together. The GJ material may be part of it. Julian Assange is being extradited. Roger Stone's trial is approaching. Rudy's arrest may be days away, along with revelations about his four "associates" and their illegal campaign contributions. Their one-time boss Dmitry Firtash also being extradited to face charges here. Tax documents exposure being upheld in the Courts. People deserting or being thrown off the ship. Seems it's all starting to collapse around him.

This all sounds fine, but I'm going to play Trump's Advocate ** for 1 second....

    ** Formerly Devil's Advocate

Why would this judge be weighing in on the current impeachment probe over Ukraine when the matter she was reviewing was related to the Mueller report?? I know Nadler always said he was running an impeachment probe, but for most people, it wasn't formalized until Nancy said it was so..

Has the House Judiciary been continuing with their probe while waiting for Schiff to turn over his articles?? If so, it hasn't made any news lately.

Just a bit confused on that... Also a little angry it takes this long for what I consider relatively obvious decisions to come out...

Because an impeachment inquiry isn’t limited by some specific topic. They could easily include obstruction in their articles.

They could, but as of now, they aren't going there publicly....

Just seems a bit out of sync to me...

I hope they don't add articles on OOJ from Mueller... Ukraine is a pretty easy sell to the masses...

Oh so you think that the facts and accurate information I posted in post #7 was my personal record... Cause it sounded like you meant the PF's record.

Regardless, thanks for admitting that my post was spot on, factual and accurate. Rare intellectual honesty among libs nowadays. LOL

Exactly. Congress could impeach Donald for calling certain Republicans "scum" I would think.

This is very significant, although we all knew this ruling was coming. The Constitution is quite clear about the House setting the rules for impeachment.

The fact that this ruling exists makes this a legal process (it already was, but now it has judicial backing), and allows Pelosi to go on for MONTHS gathering evidence and subpeoning witnesses without a vote, and then putting a straight impeachment vote to the House: Yea/Nay. That would prevent Republicans from subpeoning the batshit crazy people they would use to muddy everything with conspiracy theory nonsense.

For starters, an official impeachment investigation s one of the reasons that Democrats in the House are arguing that they should be granted access to the grand jury testimony.

And the Democratic attorneys, when arguing this case, made it explicitly clear that the eventual impeachment articles can be expanded to include charges related to obstruction, including the ongoing obstruction (Ukraine) or past obstruction (Mueller).

One of the interesting aspects that I find is the influence this decision can gave on the impending articles of impeachment. House leaders are already debating what those articles should look like and whether they should be expanded to include trumps instances of wrongdoing during the Mueller probe.

I think the concern is making the impeachment trial too unwieldy and hand delivering the talking point that Democrats just want to relitigate Mueller after Mueller "found" him innocent (I know he didnt, but it will be the talking point). So unless the unredacted grand jury testimony reveals something really damaging, like Trump very clearly committed perjury, then the articles will not include anything from Mueller.

But you better bet your bottom dollar that anything found here will be used against Trump and the Republicans in campaign ads and speeches.
