Lib won more seats, gillard won by making backroom deals.
but at least come next election labor will be wiped out just as bad as they were in the nsw state election.

Just to explain to the o'seas posters, this article was written by a card carrying liberal ("Tea Party"-like conservative party), an ex state premier (like governor).

He is also the chair of the Beyondblue organisation, a national depression initiative for men.

He used this position to denigrate single parents and same sex marriage parents saying they are not as good a parents as heterosexual couples (by the way he is divorced). He has even been quoted as stating, "employing a gay man is the same as employing a paedophile"

    Now read the link again

i am over that... I would like to see the country run the right way though...and clearly we need another election to achieve that.
Tell me, how many elections will it take for labor to claw their way back into even having a chance of winning ever again after their pathetic mismanagement this time round?

Sadly he is only talking about the League.

We lost the main game today.

Just like the Liberals lost the election.

We shouldn't whine like the Libs do though. They are just embarrassing.

Yep I already posted that too:cry:

No not whining, we will just have to pick up our game, wonder if the libs can ... OMG if Abbott ever hung his pink lycra number in the lodge I will be worried.
But I still wouldn't whine, you are right, it is bloody embarrassing.

We whine about the mismanagement of the country and the appalling waste of money this goverment has been...not about the fact juLIAR only won the election by doing backroom deals.

No, listen carefully, Juliar won the election because she won the negotiations with the independents, Tony had his chance at that too, but he lost.

So what is it, the $64 per person per year to help clean up the environment?
Restricting access to gambling, one of the biggest problems in the country, funny thing is your people say we cannot afford the carbon trading scheme ($64) but we can afford to gamble more than most people on earth.

Or is the deaths of the thousands of children because the league clubs will all go toes up ... not

Parliament is made up of represenatives. Those reps decide which party they support. That's how it always works.

goes to show that while the labor supporters may scream the loudest they are in fact the minority. Gillard, labor, the greens and those so called "independents" will be out soon enough.

For our overseas posters let me explain, people that use terms like

    Tea party like conservative.

Are desperate to try and denigrate the other side of politics. They think by using terms like tea-party they cast dispersions on people that have the temerity not to think the way they think.

People using these terms are usually viewed as partisan hacks. They like to feign disgust from on end and spew vitriol from the other.

Juliar Gillard might be the weakest PM we`ve had to date, I`m not sure, Rudd would certainly be right up there, partly by vitrue of the fact that he was elected on a lie, and the electorate`s disenchantment with Howard. Rudd then followed the natural course & fell on his own sword forged from incompetence, dishonesty, and the standard ALP envy and division.

Juliar has followed the same course, placed in power via the factional back door, and very nearly losing an unlosable election, she has struggled since day one. ALP leaders, being under the influence of their puppet masters are now nothing more than a mouthpiece for their masters, little wonder that they are typically shallow of character, and deep of ego, these are the only criteria needed for ALP "leadership".

The politics of envy manifests itself within it`s own ranks, thereby creating this weak and disfunctional entity that the ALP has become. Juliar, although a poor performer, has always had to contend with the untenable position of the leader of a house divided, however, her ego has been salved by her ability to quote her favorite line, "OI YAM the Proime Minisatr ov thees kuntery".

It`s hard to say how Juliar would have performed without the albatros that is the ALP hanging around her neck, but by the same token, she would never have gotten to be PM without that same dead bird either.

Australia needs quality political representation, I can`t see this happening in the near future.

That's correct, under the current "system" we can have no good government, no matter who you vote for. Our votes are nominal only, now that the Australian and State Governments are Corporations, and the Queen is now Patron of COAG only.

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION THAT EVERY AUSTRALIAN NEEDS TO READ.

Most people in this country are Liberal morons who would kiss Howards backside if they had the chance. Makes me sick to know that so many in this county support illegal wars, throwing children overboard, treating asylum seekers so inhumanely, and denying basic rights to gays and lesbians.
