Arkady never mentioned that to me. He was a Russian Soviet Army officer and told me many things.

 

I was in his college class in 1957 and honestly I do not recall him saying they owned thousands of serfs. But his family were all killed by the Soviets.

 

I can not speak for African Americans. I can not speak for Russians -- I am Jewish from Russia.

During the XVIIIth and XIXth Centuries, Russian, Polish, Hungarian serfs fought for their Nations. They were patriots to their Nations even as they were serfs.

 

Serfdom was abolished in 1861 -- thus it was not seen as relevant to nobles in 1918.

 

He was at least a teen when the revolution happened. He may well have been in his 70s as my teacher. Well at least in his 60s. I am not sure but know he fled to China. (1957 as my teacher)

 

Frankly if you met me, I believe we could be friends.

Arkady is a Jew. His family lived in Ukraine but he said his family got to Ukraine over 400 years ago. He made his money in the USA as an architect.

Two issues wrong with that a this is not an inheritance and b no one owes you any inheritance.

 

There were reparations paid to the slaves.

 

Arkady told me his family came to Russia from Germany about 440 years ago or so.

 

I can suggest some excellent books where you learn the slaves did get reparations if you would like that.

Take my country. I know it pretty well. Take Russia, I know most from that old teacher in college and some from Russians I have met and talked to a lot. But that does not mean I know more than a Russian knows. I respect what they know.

They owned slaves. What the hell made you bring up Obama? He was never a slave.

Look, I have spoken in the past that our own Army by drafting me and millions of others practiced slavery. I object to slavery.

 

Nobody said that slavery was a good thing or defended slavery. Your party the democrats should be paying reparations because they were the slave party. The republicans ended slavery.

 

You are the only other person who equated slavery with the draft. I have brought this issue up many times on other forums. The draft is state sponsored slavery!

 

I can list hundreds of ways that Draftees were like slaves. And you probably will not find a democrat that objects to this either.

 

We exiled segregation and their violent and educational stats got worse, we gave them affirmative action and their stats got worse, we gave them a holiday (Juneteenth) and they burn streets and murder cops, we give them reparations and guess what will happen…

 

My political leaders see it as divisive and it is not to honor slaves, it is to honor the men who freed them.

 

What a foul joke. The people who captured slaves took away their identities, controlled every aspect of their lives; their thinking and their souls, cruelly broke up families, greedily gained wealth from them and had their own way with mothers and daughters if they were of the notion are now to be honored for freeing them after a brutal civil war !!!!???? The concept is so warped and backwards it boggles the mind. Your leaders are purely insensitive asinine greedy buttholes who have a tortured sense of reality.

 

Draft was very unfair, but this is conversation for another thread. This should not be brought to diminish the injustice of American Slavery.

 

It leaves out nothing. Nothing is stopping from making their lives better on their own and I won’t raise my hand to give that community of violence a voice.

I started out with dang near nothing. The first place I paid rent for was an unfinished room in a friends basement. I had a blanket hanging on nails for the door. I worked to get to where I’m at now and I’m sure they can do the same thing. The only way to pay reparations is to take from me and many other people that earned what they have. To take from our labor just because we’re white and somehow less deserving of what we have accomplished just cause of our skin color. Tax is higher for nothing we did wrong. To that I say F anyone who thinks I need to pay anyone for something we had no part in.

 

I have some unfortunate news for you in preparations does happen it's not going to be every black person just gets cut a check no you'll get things like improvements in black neighborhoods and so on and so forth but you're not just going to sit there with your hand out and expect a million dollars cuz you're black and I've asked the op this question I wonder if she's ever plans to answer it how much does she think every person should get and how exactly are you going to determine who is Black enough there's a multitude of mixed races where's the threshold do we do like Nazis now and do the one drop rule or what?

 

They all would be millionaires by now were that to have happened the first time, long ago, it came up.
I do not believe this country will pay the current group merely for being black. And we have no way to round up those whose families came from slaves. I know blacks whose roots are from Africa but they are not from American blacks.

 

It is more anti white talk is all.

 

Only African Americans can decide how Reparations are paid. The legal basis for Reparations is the Law of Inheritance.
