How did Trump's supporters in Michigan react to Trump's strident declaration that foretold of economic chaos? They cheered mightily.

Trump yelled out at the crowd of cheering admirers, "I am not kidding around."

They cheered enthusiastically again at the impending economic doom.

“It could mean all trade” with Mexico, Trump said when questioned by reporters in Florida. “We will close it for a long time.”

No doubt Trump's fans are thrilled with this statement. After all, to them, Trump can do no wrong.

I love it when a plan comes together. 8)

Yes, yes it would. But it would be FAR more detrimental to Mexico than it would be to the United States. That should be obvious.

As for intelligence, did you want my intelligence quotient? Or did you want my list of degrees. I make it a point not to share my IQ, as I think it's unclassy.

But I'm happy to share my degrees, because I worked for those, I didn't have to do anything to get my IQ.

Two associates, a bachelors, two masters degrees, multiple masters certificates, and quite a few certs of wildly different skills.

How intelligent are Trump supporters you ask?

Intelligent enough not to switch their vote because of a Facebook ad.

I have long maintained that Trump is a national security risk. That was proven again today.

The Washington Post reports, "A White House whistleblower told lawmakers that more than two dozen denials for security clearances have been overturned during the Trump administration, calling Congress her “last hope” for addressing what she considers improper conduct that has left the nation’s secrets exposed.

"Tricia Newbold, a longtime White House security adviser, told the House Oversight and Reform Committee that she and her colleagues issued “dozens” of denials for security clearance applications that were later approved despite their concerns about blackmail, foreign influence or other red flags, according to panel documents released Monday.

"Newbold, an 18-year veteran of the security clearance process who has served under both Republican and Democratic presidents, said she warned her superiors that clearances “were not always adjudicated in the best interest of national security” — and was retaliated against for doing so.

"Newbold alleged that 25 individuals were given clearances or access to national security information since 2018 despite concerns about ties to foreign influence, conflicts of interests, questionable or criminal conduct, financial problems, or drug abuse.

"Among them was presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner."

Were Trump a civilian seeking a security clearance, he would probably be denied. According to his own lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, Trump was negotiating with the Russian government for a Moscow Trump Tower during the entire Presidential campaign of 2016.

His supporters argue the President can grant a security clearance to anyone he wishes, which is, of course, beside the point. It is not a question of could. It is a question of should.

One thing is perfectly clear. When the Framers were writing the Constitution, when past members of Congress were considering the granting of powers to the President, none of them envisioned a President like Trump.

I keep hearing that from Trump's fans, and that is moronic. Americans could give a rat's ass about the Mexican economy. Americans care only about our economy, and closing the southern border would cause economic chaos and the loss of thousands of jobs. Prices of vegetables, fruit, cars, and car parts would spike. That is just the short version.

Speaking of intelligence ... aw, never mind.

I reported this thread and hope it gets deleted. But in case they keep it, even though it by it's title insults a group then I guess it's okay to answer the question of the thread. My answer is Trump supporters are smarter than Trump haters.

I'd humbly suggest never requesting threads started by leftists get deleted.

They make great crow for later.

Let them tell us exactly what they think. The only people it hurts is them.

Democrats idea of negotiating is asking if they do or don't get a lubricant.

First I don’t have a team. That’s your first error. And I’m not the hypocrite here . I’ve never mocked those less fortunate or those who have less education. You are participating in a thread disparaging such people and personally posting less than charitable content on the subject.

The two memes of Trump and Hillary are not the same. If Hillary said what Trump did I would applaud. Politicians should seek to represent all their constituents regardless of class. Clearly you believe differently.

As far as fake news goes you may want to do some research on the reliability of all media not just those not on your “team”.

If Trump were half the things you claim he would be pandering to you. Instead he’s cast his lot with Americans who understand the foundations of this country and wish to preserve them. If all he cared about was himself he wouldn’t say things that torque your team off so much. He would be more centrist instead of standing for those you despise based on class.

Finally, anybody who would criticize any politician for saying they love the uneducated and appreciate their support is an elitist prick.

Anybody knowingly passing on untrue memes or information is a dishonest prick.

Yes, there are a lot of pricks and they aren’t in just one party or constituency.

Meh. The only proof of intelligence is if one can parrot disparaging rhetoric about the President or his supporters. :)

Trump loves to shut down things. He "proudly" shut down the government, causing the longest government shutdown in our history. He is threatening to shut down the border this week. And he has shut down all financial aid to Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvadore, making the Central American caravans even more of a threat to our southern border.

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan said Wednesday that the "breaking point has arrived this week" for the US immigration system. Speaking from El Paso, Texas, the head of the US border security agency said that on Monday, CBP encountered the highest total number of migrants in years, with more than 4,000 in a single day, the vast majority of which were apprehensions of people illegally crossing the border.

Who is saying this? Well, the Trump administration, of course. McAleenan and Kirstjen Nielson, the head of DHS, work for Trump. Trump is a prolific liar. Even his fans admit that. At a rally, nearly every other sentence is a lie, particular if he is talking about Democrats or the Mueller Report. He will eyeball a reporter directly and lie. Trump is proud of his talent for lying. He has even given it a name. He calls it truthful hyperbole.

Just how intelligent is it for a President to have the reputation of a creative liar? Why in the world should we be believe the statistics given out the border patrol or the DHS? Did they close facilities down to make the remaining facilities overburdened. The current statistics are very convenient to Trump's arguments. That always makes an informed observer suspicious. Why should we believe anything put out by the Trump administration? Trump is a liar and proud of it.

Which, of course, brings us to Trump's wall, and the Constitution crisis Trump has created by his attempt to usurp the powers of Congress.

A White House whistleblower told lawmakers that more than two dozen denials for security clearances have been overturned by Trump. Among those denied a security clearance by intelligence officials, but granted one by Trump is his daughter and son-in-law.

Putin is enormously pleased with his protege. Chaos abounds within the American government.

Do you know how foolish you look by imagining what I said, then trying to criticize me for what you said?

The fact that you cannot comment on what I actually say makes you look weak and your defense of Trump weaker.

What is even sadder is that people who support Trump can't deal with the reality of my posts. Trump's fans simply ignore issues related to Trump.

You omitted telling us what I got wrong. Did I get anything wrong? If so, be specific. I'd love to hear it.

If I didn't get anything wrong, maybe you best re-think your position.

Shut it down, and keep it down until the Mexican government does a little border patrolling of their own.The temporary setback of ag products going up in price is a drop in the bucket for the harm done annually and the drag on our economy and resources the illegals bring. So there is your answer you were looking for. It's a HUGE NET WIN!

Which issue? The one where you can't have a reasonable debate on an issue without starting it with an ad hominem attack on Trump supporters' intelligence or did you want to discuss border issues? I'd be glad to debate the latter once the former is dealt with.

    Sure.

The parts where you pretended that a million people a year aren't illegally entering our country, and democrats are creating the conditions to encourage human trafficking and illegal immigration.

Plus all the "pppppppPutin" and "Russia Russia Russia" stuff that you still espouse in the face of reality.

The reason you don't see it, is because you think shutting the border down to stop illegal immigration is worse than the illegal immigration itself.

You see that as an "intelligent" argument.

    It isn't.

    Just how intelligent is Trump?

Last week should have been a time of rejoicing for Trump and Trump Republicans. Trump's agent, Bill Barr, came out with a four page summary of the Mueller Report, and Trump and Trump Republicans claimed, prematurely and wrongly, that Barr's extremely biased summary exonerated Trump. They proclaimed loudly there was no collusion or obstruction, and Trump led the cheers.

Their exuberance was short-lived. Why? Because of Trump, of course.

Trump thought last week was a good time to push for repeal and replace Obamacare.

"Let me tell you exactly what my message is: The Republican party will soon be known as the party of health care," Trump told reporters on Capitol Hill. "You watch."

The Republican failure to deal with health care when they controlled both houses of Congress led to their downfall in the 2018 mid-terms. The lost the House of Representatives, state houses, state legislatures, and held on the Senate by the skin of their teeth despite having 26 to 9 advantage in the races.

In terms of the destruction of his own party, Trump wasn't through. Next, he proclaimed that he intended in shut down the southern border if Mexico didn't comply with his demands. Economics 101 tells us shutting down the border would cause an economic apocalypse.

Adding fuel to the GOP bonfire, Trump decided to cut off aid to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. creating the worst and most counterproductive decision that could possibly be made to deal with the immigration situation on our southern border.

As expected, Trump is backing down on both issues. This has happened over and over again. A sensible person never takes Trump's threats seriously. He is the prime example of The Boy Who Cried Wolf Syndrome.

Trump appears to be having second thoughts about dragooning his party into another showdown over Obamacare, after Republican lawmakers threw a mild fit over his attempts to force the issue last week. Late Monday night, Trump tweeted that the GOP was still “developing a really great HealthCare Plan,” but that they wouldn’t vote on it until after the 2020 elections. Meaning the fifth of never. He says they will vote on it 2021. :roflol:Come on, now that is funny.

As for closing the border, Trump is in the beginning stages of trying to save face. Also, he wanted to hand the problem he created over to Congress, classic Trump. He said he had seen signs that Mexico “has started apprehending more people.”

"Congress has to meet quickly and make a deal. I could do it in 45 minutes. We need to get rid of chain migration," Trump said. More Trump humor, how did this man become our President?

“After many years (decades), Mexico is apprehending large numbers of people at their Southern Border, mostly from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador,” Trump tweeted. “They have ALL been taking U.S. money for years, and doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for us, just like the Democrats in Congress!”

“Security is more important to me than trade,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday. “We’re going to have a strong border or we’re going to have a closed border.”

Of course, Trump didn't explain why this is a security issue, but that is typical Trump, too. He doesn't have the balls to explain what he really means because what he really means is indefensible and ludicrous. Only his gullible base would believe a humanitarian crisis involving impoverished men, women, and children is a threat to our national security.

BTW, how did I insult you? Because I told the truth? Check the thread.
