Not to give you a hard time, but these two posts seem a bit contradictory.

 

I said that its inappropriate to dress up as a black person to mock them. So that is absolutely unacceptable to me. However if you dress up as a black person, or a white person, or any other race or demographic of any kind simply to have a good time and celebrate what you are dressing up as, its perfectly fine to me.

 

Wouldn’t it be easier to rename the rugs? No. People can’t call that racist.

But we can have oriental rugs but no orientals. Does that mean we should have African pottery but no Africans?

How the heck can we have rugs from the Orient when there are no people from the orient?

 

Are you perfectly fine with white people making tacos or having dreadlock hairdos? Those things were considered racist.

The subject of this thread has been a real eye opener for many. It doesn't necessarily mean that progressives will learn and change, but it's something we can constantly remind them of when they start hyperventilating over some other offense, then weaponizing that "offense". This has proved what many of us have been saying for the longest.

 

Saying it’s racist to call a person from the orient an oriental is like saying it’s racist to call a person from the south a southerner.

The left must work overtime to invent things to call racist.

 

It's always something new, often times something that has most people scratching their heads, yet complying anyways just to avoid the REEE rampage.

Hilariously though, as seen here in this thread, blackface isn't actually something to be upset about. So, next time there's a new trend in outrage culture, we can question them without second guessing.

It used to be considered polite to call African Americans nigras negroes or colerds too, but it ain’t any more. Calling anyone who comes from the Far East Orientals or Chinamen is the same as calling African Americans colerds.

Putting on theatrical make up for a play or skit is not disrespectful at all in my view. Calling everyone from the Far East Oriental or a Chinaman is very disrespectful in my opinion. See what I mean now?
