to make a clarification you apply it to all religious law, not target it to just one

I suppose it's much like biblical law

Is this really what we elect people to do? Go to the capital and create stupid, meaningless laws that have nothing to do with reality?

What an absolute joke this law is. It is nothing more than ignorance that became a bill. It is pointless grandstanding preying on the minds of people who are foolish enough to think that "Sharia law" or any other such nonsense can ever be instituted in this country.

More than that; it's actually damaging to thousands of private arbitrators and contracts, that will be thrown out simply because the mutually-negotiated terms of the contract made a choice of foreign laws, which is a practice that has gone on in contracts (choice of laws) for thousands of years without a hitch.

But... rubes in that flyover state will eat this nonsense up.

nice try, had they said ANY religious law, that is one thing, targeting a religion specifically and not applying that law equally to all is wrong

It apparentpy targets all "foreign laws" but as far as I know, it does not define "foreign laws", and from what I have read politicians say, they only mention Sharia.

Nope, evidently not. The so-called 'Great Communist Conspiracy' was as much a rabble-rousing hoax and an example of the power of negative propaganda, as is the current bogeyman-Islamophobia.

Of all places, Kansas really doesn't have to worry about this. Now, the city of Dearborn, Michigan might have some valid concerns with this, however.

The law does not mention or single out Sharia.

No, it's about ruining perfectly valid agreements in the name of fear and hatred.
This comment makes you think you don't actually know what the "red scare" was.

If you don't fear and hate sharia then you don't belong in the civilized world.

Well actually no it wasn't as information that was classified at the time but has since been released; such as, the Venona intercepts, has proven there were Communists in the highest echelons of the U.S. government and the Communist Party USA was taking their marching orders directly from Moscow. But I don't think that banning Sharia is the answer, we must never allow Muslim numbers to reach the point where Sharia becomes the threat that it is where ever Muslims hold a majority or account for a significant % of the population, instead we should ban the Islamic Imperialists from entering the country in the first place and all non-citizen Muslims should be deported to their home country ASAP.

    Baloney!!!!!!!

We operate under United State federal law and individual state laws. We do not operate under foreign laws. We don't operate under French law or German law or British law. If people want to operate under Sharia law they should move to countries where it is the law of the land.

    Noahide Laws
    1.Prohibition of Idolatry
    2.Prohibition of Murder
    3.Prohibition of Theft
    4.Prohibition of Sexual immorality
    5.Prohibition of Blasphemy
6.Prohibition of eating flesh taken from an animal while it is still alive
    7.Establishment of courts of law

Ivan, Ivan, Ivan. Do you know anything at all about U.S. law? You say the United States follows Noahide Law. Okay, please tell me which laws in the United States make it illegal to blaspheme, to be an idolater, to eat live food (think raw clams and oysters).

Almost every country has courts of law and murder and theft are universally against the law.

The U.S. also doesn't follow Mosaic Law. We are allowed to take the Lord's name in vain. We don't have to honor of fathers and/or mothers. We don't have to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. We can even covet our neighbor's ox, ass and even wife.

Sharia law has no place in the United States law system.

    No, not explicitly.

But the only "foreign law" that gets so much attention in America is good ol' Sharia.

And why shouldn't that violent, oppressive, and unjust system of jurisprudence be condemned?

Because in America, if two Muslim men go to an Imam to have their dispute mediated and both agree to the dictate of the Imam according to Shariah law, society at large has no business sticking its nose into that agreement.

American society should never involve itself in the private arbitration of disputes between 2 parties, regardless of how unjust the system of jurisprudence used by the mediator.

What's next? Outlaw all private arbitration and say that two disputed parties HAVE to seek arbitration in an American Court of Law or face some sort of criminal penalty?

Sounds like a slippery slope to me, not to mention grossly Unconstutional.
