I need more information. Would you please define what you mean by "cult christians"? Otherwise, your post seems bizarre. It looks as though you are saying that you would rather have someone tell you they're going to cut your head off and then cut your head off, than have someone talk to you for a half-hour about becoming "born again".

I must not be getting your meaning.

From what I've figured out so far, you're allowed to cut out part of another's post if you're just responding to a singular point. You're not allowed to change any words in another's post that you quoted. I'm not sure about taking something out of context. That might be a gray area, but I think it should be frowned upon just like the changing of words.

You're afraid of an elective? Do you not think Christians pay taxes?

Tell ya what, prog. When you make paying the public school portion of property taxes elective, you get to complain about electives which contemplate things about which you are an intolerant prog.

His second post remains, perhaps because while he deceptively quoted me by removing my saying I hadn't made the comment he claimed, he was technically (partially) quoting my words.

But other posters may want to take note of the behavior.

Interesting thread, and I think lawsuits are inevitable.

Let's remember what was first, prog. First, most schools couldn't separate religion from education, as a core purpose of schooling is to teach good character. That means it is impossible to split off morality from teaching - but that's what you progs did. You favor a morality which stands distant from Judeo-Christian morality, and then had the temerity to demand thatwe pay for your version with our tax dollars.

If we didn't like it, you said we could send our kids to private schools, but still pay for your schools too.

And you clowns regularly whine that Christians are imposing their beliefs. Call me when you're forced to pay for religious schools that do not believe what you believe.

Public schools as presently structured are unConstitutional. They've been allowed because progressives have infected the US.

We the People decided to have a SECULAR government with a wall of separation between church and state.

If YOU want to teach religion you are free to do so in your own home and/or place of worship.

Public schools are for ensuring that our nation has an educated population capable of making informed decisions when it comes to elections.

That you want to pervert the principles on which this nation was founded in order to impose your own Christian Sharia law is your problem.

It is an elective course in Christianity as an historic matter.

However, the religion of Islam is another matter. Many public schools require students attend classes on Islam and even recite Islamic prayers:

Islam, other religions already taught at San Diego Unified

New Jersey School District Teaches Islam But Censors Christianity
    http://www.dailywire.com/news/13698/new-jersey-school-district-teaches-islam-censors-aaron-bandler#

South Carolina standard that includes teaching of Islam in schools under review
    http://www.postandcourier.com/news/...cle_b7ece782-f3a1-11e6-a4d5-ebe3d38bdf1d.html

You will not hear one sound of outrage from Democrats or the left.

Over and over the reason why every Christian should vote straight Republican for every office in every election.

But let's watch and see if the Democrats on the thread ranting about an elective course on Christianity as an historic matter will rant against required courses in the religion of Islam and rant about that how Democrats are a bunch of radical Muslims trying to indoctrinate children into Islam.

Well, just as an observation, Catholics ARE Christians. Also, your post says it is an elective, as opposed to a mandatory requirement. Not sure I really see a problem with that. Although, in fairness, it would probably be more politically correct AND beneficial to students to offer a course in "World Religions" as an elective, covering perhaps the top 4, one each quarter, for those who might be interested. This was actually a required course at my Catholic high school back in the 1980s, lol. It is of course possible to teach what the belief systems/underlying principles of any religion are without presenting such as established fact, or endorsing said beliefs or attempting to convert the students.

The fact that this is so messy is leading to the fact that it will be a hot mess down the road.

Of course you have to pretend the two are synonymous to maintain the illusion of a cogent argument, but government promotion of religion does not, ipso facto, impose religion on anyone, wherefore it's nonsensical to claim anyone is immune from such promotion.

The government promotion of a specific religion is the government de facto imposing that religion on the citizens.

Nope, the 14th had nothing to do with religion ...yea now I remember the leftys take a simple amendment to give slaves freedom and use that amendment for every damn cause they have ..like Roe vs Wade, gender discrimination.....
