Kranes' drunk thoughts on political violence

Alright, here's one thing that actively annoys me. Like more than a pet peeve. Cuz it's just plain wrong to think this way.

Riots are not acts of terrorism. Period, end of story. Any counter argument? Bye bye. They are very different from each other. Terrorism is generally preplanned and has a specific target in mind, or in other words they utilize first strike capabilities. IE they attack when they know they can succeed because their opponent isn't expecting it. Riots are not preplanned (they are a reaction to something and are immediate) even though they have long term causes. While they utilize first strike capabilities on the first day, riots that last longer will quickly turn into looting without clear political goals (though not always, depends on leadership and coordination of the mob), the crowd has more control over whether rioting breaks out. Terrorism is generally spectacle oriented; riots are about immediate destruction without a clear message.

OH AND for people who say that this is not the law; "so what" I say, I'm focusing on generalized tactics used. Not the law because political violence violates the law and is therefore bad. So focus on tactics instead because riots require different counter strategies than terrorism.
While that said, yes acts of terrorism can occur during a riot. However this is a very different thing from the riot itself, and taking a guess pretty rare. Cuz like, you can't plan to plant a bomb and get away with first strike... if the police are there en masse expecting an attack.

So like, get your stuff together people, riots are not acts of terrorism. And if you're reading this future Kranes; your cat says you're really cool and like you're doing a good job explaining political violence to these guys on PF. And maybe you can use this to one day talk to regular people. AND YES, I AM DRUNK! And you guys are still really cool and all but like; you all need to come to one of my classes and listen to me talk about political violence to stop making these basic mistakes.

 

And as a follow up, right wing terrorism is on the rise. End of discussion. Own up your political violence righties! Cuz like, i will make that graph using PIRUS data. I've done it once and I will do it again.

There is no such thing as right wing terrorism. Even when the left describes white supremacists as being right wing (which is totally absurd)--those white supremacists that I've seen or heard about in the last decade or so are no where to be found performing acts of terrorism. In fact, weren't those white supremacists in Charlottesville there in a patriotic manner to stop the toppling of historic statues that leftist mobs were there to destroy?

The real terrorists have been coming from the Muslim world of the Middle East nations. Might want to ask Obama who he is more friendly with....Farrakhan and the anti-American terrorist driven rag-headed Muslims or American Conservatives.

 

It's a myth to go along with their ''whites are bad'' narrative...."RW terrorism" dog whistle for "white terrorism".

After a summer of nation wide riots by leftist terrorist, they still preach this. Guess it's true, being a liberal is like unto standing on your head and declaring the world is upside down.

 

You've never watched that cat-whisperer guy on tv have you? You HAVE to talk to your cat to care for it properly, Or rather to allow it to properly care for you. This is why most people think cats are aloof. They actually try to care for their people but people won't talk to them so they give up, since forcing the matter would be rude and cats are very polite

 

I think every session of every legislature should end with a final toast. Legislators should supply their own liquor and vie with each other for the best toast.

I would not add the sit ins in the state capitals by Trump supporters as those technically fall within the realm of civil disobedience (despite the guns) or at the very least if we want to get 'violent', a coup.

Yeah so this is why I didn't want to post this thread sober. What Libhater here said is just stupid. I literally posted the graph on this issue. We can show the internal communications since the McVeigh bombings and how the feds basically ignored right wing terrorism for decades. We can point to the DHS having to issue a memo on domestic terrorism. Even during the 2000's, the height of Islamist terrorist attacks, there were more counts of right wing domestic terrorism than Islamist.

But more importantly than that? PF probably won't count it but this is justification for violence. Downplaying the violent acts of a group of people in of itself creates justification for them to be violent. *Everyone else is being violent against us, so we need to use self defense*, that stupid argument. This is why sober me hates these arguments, they run flat in the face of reality.
