    the correct quote is "Historically, the anatomy and physiology of bodies with vaginas have been neglected"
    It's a referral to the researchers.
    Learn English if you don't get it.

    The Lancet said that the researchers have ignored the anatomy of women, but instead of using the word WOMEN it referred to "bodies with vaginas!" Simple!

    So at the bottom line it remains... the expressed "jaw drop" is just you lot not understanding the reference towards the scientific community by scientific newspaper.
