You don't get to make up your own "predictions".

What funding?? Come on, tell me who is going to fund someone to sit in the antarctic freezing their nuts off counting snowflakes?

A whole 12 scientists! Gosh, that clearly points to a concensus among the world's scientific community. Try again GunBoy.

I think you know what funding.

The money lib scientists spend on their research projects and the part they keep for themselves for personal needs.

Libs may think that money comes from the Tooth Fairy but in fact someone in the private sector has to work very hard to pay taxes for libs to spend.

Lovelock is an independent and does not have to worry about his funding being cut off by angry liberals in government or university.

But most climate scientists are slaves to the system and have to say and do what is expected of them.

Your final paragraph is at the core of the objections of denialists. MONEY! The conservatives are terrified that someone might seperate them from their precious cash stash. That pretty much sums it up.

Yes Mac, we all know that absolutely no conservative scientists worry about their funding being cut off, nor that they are paid by those with vested interests. Remember all the uproar over cancer and cigarettes? I guess all those liberal, progressive tobacco companies didn't pay their own pet scientists to deny a link... http://www.amazon.com/Merchants-Doubt-Handful-Scientists-Obscured/dp/1596916109

I doubt if many conservatives are allowed in the liberal climate scientist club to begin with.

And if one does show up he will not get a job or funding for his own projects.

The issue is if man-made global warming is destroying the planet or not.

The climate has never been static and never will be.

We have had periods of global warming and cooling since God created the heavens and the earth.

So a minor rise in temperature or not is to be expected.

But liberals want mankind to jump off a cliff on the basis of their predictions and beliefs and the rest of us are not willing to do that.

But all of those changes were CAUSED by something

As I have repeated over and over - climate. like your underpants does not change by itself.

Something has to cause the change.

And if you can find a viable rational alternative to CO2 there is a Nobel prize waiting for you - currently it belongs to the IPCC but if you can prove AAAAALLLLLL those people wrong they will take it away from them and happily give it to you

Hysteria-filled libs shouting to us about the end of the world remind me of roosters who think the sun rises each morning due to their crowing.

The climate changed before humans existed.

Climate change does have causes but Nature is far more powerful than humans.

Yes but on this thread I am not the one referencing gloom and doom - THAT is quite nicely being done by the right

But I will repeat that it is true that climate has changed in the past - but always for a reason

Just because bush fires have happened in the past does not mean that they will not happen in the future or that they are not caused by someone lighting a match
