ever hear of george wallace? or LBJs claim that he after civil rights laws the south would not vote democratic for generations and of course nixons southern strategy

southerners were so stubborn that the republican party was nonexistent in the south for 100 years only after democrats pushed civil rights would they openly become republicans

I do not have to prove a negative. Where is your proof?

Or could it be you cannot deal with the truth? Historical facts are historical facts. If that is too much for you then you should not deal with folks that will point it out.

I know the history, but we're talking today, not decades and decades ago.

Dixiecrats did NOT stay in the Democrat party.

That claim wasn't a negative, my logic-lacking chum. You made a bogus affirmative claim.

Nope. I say the democrats didn't switch sides. If you say they did then it is up to you to prove it.

You need to distinguish between progressive and progressive, and better distinguish between conservative and conservative. It is true that American progressivism began with Republicans like Teddy Roosevelt but his progressive was more central government control for the good of the country and people and not at the expense of individual liberty. The current progressive got is start with the theories and academics of Woodrow Wilson and that was for strong central government at the expense of individual liberty (which Wilson considered a quaint idea). Then it got on steroids under FDR and came full bore out of the closet with Obama (Truman and JFK not so much, LBJ quite a bit, with Clinton a so-so). Now progressivism strives for the federal government to control everything and consistent, conforming, and commonly equal individuals doing as they are told; it is exclusively a Democrat/ left/ liberal movement (though Democrat means leadership but not all of the masses).. It is true the southerners and slave owners were conservative, of a sort, but slavery was a clear Democrat institution. The very first regular Democrat president, Andrew Jackson, was a (harsh and mean) slave owner, an avid and strong supporter of slavery, and got rich off slaves. Other per-Democrat party presidents owned slaves but were strongly against slavery, though their actions often didn't follow their words very well..

LOL! The Southern Strategy does not prove your claim. Show us actual proof.
