Leftist Marchers Want Open Borders

Some of the comments are pretty cringe inducing.

No borders, they say. Video isn't very long.

 

Funny that the people who actually live there aren't too happy...

Advocating or supporting open borders is just plain wrong and stupid.

 

And yet here they are saying it.

Yep, there are some extremists on the left who want completely open borders and there are extremists on the right advocating closed borders. At minimum we need criminal background checks and some indication that the applicant can financial support themselves or that they have financial support. I have yet to see a good argument for anything beyond that, however.

 

Who benefits from open borders? People living in shithole countries, for sure, since they could freely move to better countries. That would explain why Mexicans and other Hispanic countries would want an open border with the US.

But there are other groups who benefit as well. Some believe that a united, homogenous population is a threat to their continued residency in those countries, and the best way to keep that from happening would be to turn the majority population into a minority. Therefore they push for open borders.

Then you have crony capitalists who want wages lowered by flooding the country with people who are used to working for peanuts.

I had that thought too. The guy with the heavy accent says there should be no borders.

I bet he came from somewhere with a border.

 

Could anyone imagine what LA would be like if 500,000 illegals flooded into the city?

The "sanctuary" democrats that run California can't take care of the homeless right now.

First guy: trump considers himself to be our god. (Probably true)
Second person: the wall is unnecessary (it is)
Third person: borders are a human construct (they are)
Fourth person: Trump is anti-democracy (he is, indirectly)
Fifth person: finally he gets someone to say they support open borders, but I’ll bet my last dime that person was thinking “as opposed to closed borders? Sure open is better”.
Sixth person: she stopped coloring her hair when Hillary lost (so?)
Seventh person: This guy thinks borders everywhere should be abolished. Omg the conservative boogeyman rears it’s head!!!!
Eighth guy: ICE is a terrorist organization (maybe not in a literal sense but they certainly are a nasty group of people who will use any trick they think they can get away with, like sauntering onto a bus and demanding to see everyone’s papers illegally)
Ninth guy: lady who seems to be more concerned about not breaking up families, and then the host Leeds’s her with a question “and let them into the country?” To which she replies yes and is probably imagining us leaving them on the other side of the border in the desert with no food or water and not just letting them in permanently.
Tenth guy: thinks the border wall won’t work, he’s right.
Eleventh guy: Interviewer trying to stump somebody with an absurd analogy.
Twelfth guy: guy tries to stump an old lady by bringing up Obama and then cuts the video before she manages to respond.
Thirteenth guy: lady thinks ICE is bad for families, they objectively are.

I could go on but there’s just more of this cherry picked bullshit set to mocking music. I’m surprised they didn’t dub in a laugh track.

This video is proof positive that conservatives are desperately thirsty for a good dose of confirmation that it’s not they who are the morons but the other people who are morons, and this interviewer has no qualms sacrificing his own integrity to provide it.

The border should be closed to illegal aliens

No visa, no entry

And visas should be more reasonable to get so that someone who wants to come here and be a productive member of our society has little barrier to do so. Period.

 

We already admit 1 million legal immigrants a year

If we end chain immigration and limit visas to high achievers and their wife and children only we may have trouble granting that many

 

And? You say that as if it were a problem.

Extending it to their spouses (hint, there are high skilled women as well) and children is "chain migration." And "high achievers" doesn't cover the low-skilled labor that also would benefit our economy. I see no rational, ethical, or economic justification for even restricting it that far. If you aren't a threat and you can either fend for yourself or you have someone who can support you, why should we prevent you from coming in? Makes no sense. It seems like big-government intervention for the sake of big-government intervention.

 

Borders are staying. Who thinks they're gonna stop us, antifa? PFFF
