It's hard to know for sure what the intent behind this is. To get the discussion off of Trump's obstruction of justice or to send a message to potential whistle blowers that your life will be ruined if you expose Trump's corruption.

 

No collusion or obstruction except in the minds of the sufferers. That ship has moved on. The idea that a WH would start an investigation on an American and political opponent without any predicate crime is bad enough, but the continued effort after Trump was elected is called sedition and a thousand times worse than Watergate ever was.

It would appear Trumpists don't feel that strategy is having enough of an impact.

However, I'm betting just like the "lock her up" canard was used as a rhetorical tool so too will be calls to investigate the investigators. Because just like with Hillary, the result of investigations exposes the underlying lies of their claims.
Trumpists would prefer to use media disinformation campaigns like those surrounding the "insurance policy" rather than delve too deeply for fear of the whole thing blowing up in their faces.

Because it wasn't. Public information about it's existence didn't emerge until very late in the campaign. For all the whining Trumpists do about the dossier they have apparently forgotten it played no role in the election.
