The character not her body, as in the character was larger than life. And yes I am aware it is fantasy, but I prefer movies like that, that are more realistic. If I want to watch fantasy I'll stick to the superhero movies.

It also takes a degree of strength to pull an actual, colt .45. She was rigged up with an aluminum fast draw pistol that didn't exist in the 1800's and still had difficulty making it look smooth or graceful if you will. Sorry but you just can't (well they shouldn't) anybody in the roll and expect it to work. Dirty Harry was written for Steve McQueen, and when he wasn't available the part was offered to Frank Sinatra (what a mistake that would have been), but in the end it went to Clint Eastwood, who owned the character.

Casting is important. Movies like John Wayne as Genghis Khan comes to mind. WTF were they thinking?

I did but not because of the woman with a sword, it was ridiculously over rated. A spoof more than anything. If you like gore and poking fun at the old karate flicks it was probably OK, but come on that franchise was trash.

If it is too distracting it becomes less entertaining at a point, and just stupid for stupid's sake. A lot of them are. Most I don't believe were really expected to be taken serious anyway, just targeted to the right audience that will buy the tickets. Nothing more or less.

Yep, I saw the movie this past weekend. I like action and I like great looking babes. There was another woman in the movie who distracted me even more than Charlize did, a redhead. Can't remember her name. I didn't see the movie thinking it was going to be "the new realism".

I had other bones to pick with the movie, i.e., the action was just a little over the top in terms of duration.

Btw, if you haven't seen Charlize in "Prometheus", you should.

I did, but I found the movie fell short as far as the Alien franchise goes. My fav is still 'Aliens'. She is an extremely attractive woman who can also be hideous looking like in Monster. That thing was almost difficult to watch, but she played a great character in that one.

I gotta say, I was equally drawn to Noomi Rapace. But I like the whole damn deep space genre.

Although I'm not on her side politically, our congresswoman, Martha McSally, was a Warthog pilot. And I believe she was the first Warthog pilot to go over the border into Iraq. So I don't think the Theron character was all that arbitrary.

People are saying a lot of crap without actually having seen the film, and are making a lot of assumptions about it.

As for me, I have no interest in seeing this film. My decision will be based on if they changed the gender of Mel Gibson's character to Mad Maxine and how they treat males in this film, but I will not make any conclusions until I have seen the movie and how ti treats men.

Because usually, giving a popular male character a gender lift is very much the first sign of radical feminists attempting to castrate males.

That depends on how far over the top the character is taken. There is nothing unbelievable about a female pilot. It is crossing the realm of possibilities/reality for a woman with bony arms to walk into a biker bar and wipe the floor with them, with little effort. Even if a woman of small stature went into the same biker bar well armed, it is highly unlikely that she would get two or three before fire was returned, and she would most likely be dead herself.

Talking believability here. They do it with guys too. The Van Damme's, Segal, Norris movies all went into unbelievability territory. The first Rambo and Die Hard's, were a little far fetched at times, but more believable than the one's that followed them.

You may not be joking, but you're definitely lying. That's not at all what happened. The mother was dead/dying and they tried to save the baby, but failed.
