How long do you think it would take tech firms to build new facilities in Mexico, tool them, train the workers and get everything up to speed running smoothly?

A decade at least. And that's why I thought the tariff war was absurd. I respect Lighthizer very much. But does anyone really think a tariff that reduced US gnp by between .5-1% per year is going to get a multi-natl to change its supply chain? It's not. Most of us know Trump cannot sustain the tariffs. He's only doing it because the econ is running hot. And Indiana or Iowa is going to turn on him in 20.

    China is just as smart.

They're playing a long game, and Trump has never had one. He's left more bankrupt hotels behind than he owns.

We needed to give a decade lead in and a united front by both parties.

I don't think China wants to be in league with the cartels. That is against their interests.

You are babbling nonsense unrelated to my question.
