it looks like ufc is starting to market to the younger crowd, all the experienced fighters lost to young new comers.

I don't know if I'd want to sweep someone if they were cranking my neck, out of fear that they wouldn't let go once they started to fall.

On both occasions that I fell victim to this neckcrank, they didn't even have to stand up. The first time it happened was during a drunken wrestling match with an uncle who wrestled in high school. My neck was jacked up for a couple weeks after that. Second time it happened was at an MMA gym several years ago, when I had next to no grappling experience. We don't use techniques like this where I train now, not when rolling in class anyways. Should it happen again though, I think I'll just let them try to pass, and hopefully get half guard.

It's HB_Surfer who's father to a future Mundial competitor.

IT'S ABOUT TIME!!! Someone finally made Manny Pacquiao pay for a stepping jab. Marquez knocked Manny on his ass in the third round then knocked him out cold in the sixth with a sweet counter right. I hope no one is still under the impression that Pacquiao can beat Mayweather.

Yep. Though Gustaffson is going to be in a world of hurtin' when he finds himself in the octagon with Jones. I also loved seeing Henderson beat down Diaz for 5 rounds. It seemed like those leg kicks early took some mobility away from Diaz. Hendersons wrestling and overall grappling was way above that of Diaz as well.

Wow. Looks even worse after watching it again today. I wonder if this is it for Pacquiao?

Pacquio doesn't care about Boxing anymore, did anyone see his new car?

During the first fights he was at his peak, when he beat up marquez, he should retire now or become like Tyson in the end.

I really dont think Marquez is clean. Bangers are born not made. Marquez has never been a banger. Developing KO power doesn't happen especially for a lightweight moving to welter weight at least not naturally. It was clear that in this fight he was just looking for a one punch knockout. In no other sport would an athlete be allowed to hire someone who previously administered steroids to athletes he trained except boxing. In no other sport would an athlete be allowed to hire Angel Heredia to train them.

Marquez has hit Pacquiao stepping in with the jab with his counter right many many times. He has never once even hurt him with it. Marquez has never been a banger. Bangers are born. Marquez is a cheater, he knew that if he had power he would have already beaten Manny so he hired someone who knew how to give him the power he was missing. Angel Heredia doesn't know the first thing about training. What he knows is how to beat drug tests.

It wouldn't shock me if Manny was on the juice either, tbh. Either way, Floyd/Manny as a draw is done. They both left a lot of money on the table, that's for sure.

I know the rumors about Manny and they could be true. But Manny has always been a banger. Keeping his power as he went up in weight is impressive but not that unprecedented. However for Marquez to suddenly become a 1 punch KO artists at 39 @ 147 is. That simply doesn't happen naturally. I dont buy that a guy who was a counter puncher with average power at lightweight suddenly becomes 1 punch banger when he is 39 years old fighting at 147. Especially when is personal trainer is a known steroid dealer.

No no no, Manny is clean, he's just scared of needles, remember? :giggle:

And Manny left a bunch of money on the table, Mayweather is still going to be making 30+ million a fight, regardless of who he's fighting.

True, but Floyd could have made 50 mil+ easy with that fight.

That's amazing. It's like Vitor Belfort 2.0. If puberty is kind to him, he can be a total monster in MMA when he turns 18.

Bangers are born. Its also nice to see him doing MMA and kickboxing. The Amateur scoring is ruining many potential pros these days. You can have close to 200 fights and never learned how to throw a punch. Instead you sit on the back foot and try to bop the guy on the top of the head with the white of your glove. Seriously Amateur boxing often looks like two kids playing whack a mole.

With all of those fights, he won't age like Anderson Silva did, that's for sure.

I hear ya. Just my thoughts, but I wouldn't want my kid taking bombs everyday at that age, like it or not it does add up.

Just from wrestling as a kid I broke my nose 3 times, have cauliflower ear forever, had two teeth knocked out and received at least 1 concussion and was KO'ed twice in practice. I can't imagine the kind of problems that kid is going to have. One tough kid though.

Pacquio and marquez didn't want to make another boring, skilled, and safe fight in which pac would win on the scorecards, everyone was asking them for KO.

They were both wreckless and depended on luck, and the mexicutioner was mexicanned.

I like it when you see two guys that appear to be two 'whacky, waving, flailing, inflatable tube men' placed facing each other in the ring.

    Definitely a valid concern.
