McCabe: There were 25th Amendment discussions at DOJ to remove Trump from office

The justification for the discussion was the firing of James Comey after forcing the deputy AG to write a justification and then saying that he fired him because of the Russia thing.

 

He was not merely afraid that he would be fired. He was afraid that his firing would be used as a justification for surreptitiously ending the Russia investigation.

After all, trump had just admitted to the Russian prime minister that firing Comey would alleviate the pressure from the investigation and he told the world that he fired him because of that Russian thing. He had also pressured Rosenstein into writing a memo that he could parade as his justification, so the obstruction of justice investigation was insurance that the Russia investigation would survive and continue.

 

Exactly, they were in a conspiracy to overthrow the Trump administration and were discussing recruiting others into it and then having Rosenstein wear a wire on the President of the United States, without a warrant, to try and entrap him.

 

Right, the indictments for treason against FBI and DOJ officials will be coming soon. This newly appointed Trump AG will get right on it. Lol

 

If any of that is criminal activity, I am sure that Barr will start handing down the indictments any day now. However my prediction is that no such thing will be done, once again proving that these baseless charges being puked out on Fox News and repeated here by several deluded members are the usual bunch of crapola that they continue to fantasize about.

The 25A is SOLELY related to removal of a POTUS for health reasons, any discussion of its use for policy reasons is an attempted coup.

 

What is baseless about them McCabe is admitting them and we have the emails. And there is an IG investigating the matter.

The primary allegation from the Steele Dossier, the allegation which held the most confidence, is that Russia interfered in the 2016 US election with the Express intent of helping Donald Trump.

That finding has been confirmed and agreed upon by every Trump appointed intelligence official.

So even if Hillary Clinton personally conducted the research for that dossier, it would STILL be an important and valid piece of evidence in the ensuing investigation.

"Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

Do you see anything in there about the justice department having the power to remove the president from office? I didn't think so, because it's not there. You might want to bone up in the Constitution, or at least consult it before posting such silliness.

It's perfectly appropriate, however, for the DOJ to study the situation, assemble evidence, and bring it to the VP or Congress to make a case. Investigation is the job of the FBI you know. I hope you know anyway. It's a question since you didn't even think to check the Constitution or to think about this first.
