The coronavirus is now in Mexico and I have two questions to ask:

    1. Should we panic like the left is encouraging us to and seal our borders tight to keep it from spreading here? After all, the left wants to see action on making sure we're safe from this bug.

    2. Mexico's president said the virus is not something terrible or fatal, which is basically what Trump said. So will the left hammer Obrador to the same degree they hammered Trump?

I'm guessing the left will find excuses to avoid question #1 and engage in their infamous double standards on question #2.

Borders don't matter, they don't help prevent the spread of disease or virus.

Somebody will be along soon to explain!

Of course some of the liberals might be surprised the Coronavirus just now made it to Mexico, they thought you got it from drinking beer...

Trump should take the Democrats suggestion of $8B and apply the excess toward building the wall in the name of disease isolation.

He sounds more rational than our leading Democrats at the moment.

We probably should have done that with China in the early stages. It's too late now. And realistically, it was going to come here no matter what we did.

I should note: WE have more cases than Mexico, if you believe our numbers. THEY should be worried about US.

But we don't need anymore sick people. We're going to have our hands full, soon. Police the borders and air travel now. We can go back to political fighting after all this.

I'm not going to hammer him, because he's not my prez, but yeah, he's downplaying this. He shouldn't. It's going to hit Mexico hard. They're already overwhelmed with the problems they have. They should close their schools immediately and advise people to avoid large public gatherings.

If Trump wanted a travel ban, there would have been a travel ban. It's not like Democrats could stop him. But yeah, Democrats should have supported it.

When the eventual report comes out about how we handled the initial outbreak, there will be plenty of blame to go around. Other than Trump and Co. downplaying this, I really can't blame them. When's the last time something like this happened? The 50's polio outbreak? An Ebola scare that never went anywhere? We just weren't ready for it. Maybe this will wake people up.

It's going to spread like wildfire in a country like Mexico! And that is going to cause financial problems in the USA, probably on Wall Street. The real problem isn't the spread of the illness, the real problem is that if it gets widespread all those companies who moved production to Mexico to save a dollar are going to end up with production shortages. The supply chain being broken.

Those people who invest their money into businesses are going to lose out if said companies go bankrupt.

Add it to the list of diseases brought in from south of the border.

Combine it with a high population density, many anti-vaccers, and our famous homeless diseases.

I think that Trump should tell the nation that on second thought since the political Left DEMANDS that we have open borders he doesn't want to hear another damn word out of their mouths about the dangers of the Coronaviris; because the one is part of the other.

Kinda wondering who was downplaying this. It seems that the left and their arm of the media are more interested in bashing the president. At first he was a xenaphobe because he wanted to act on the concerns about Coronavirus then he isn't doing enough. It's nothing but a bunch of noise for the sake of drama and Trump bashing. It doesn't look like they really give a **** about the actual problem.

Almost 1200 illegal Chinese have been apprehended in the USA this fiscal year so far. Many have broke into the USA through Mexico.

Yes, suspend all international flights, do not allow merchant seamen to disembark from their ships in port, double down on ICE and the Border Patrol. But don't do it in panic or to satisfy the left. Simply control risk.

Yeah, all that is just silly. It makes liberals look out of touch.

However, expecting Democrats not to bash the President during an election is absurd. They're running against him. Of course they're going to attack him every chance they get, and vice-versa.

I totally expect Democrats to bash Trump before election. Not to expect that is stupid. But the stuff I see them left bashing him for is just idiotic and it's been going on for three years so it's not about the upcoming election. If they dont' agree with him on abortion then bash him on abortion or immigration or whatever platform they don't agree with him about. Instead it's about scoops of ice cream, eating McDonalds, what he's going to eat in India because they don't serve beef, what kind of shoes Melania wears while getting onto AF1, catsup on his steak. Now that's some real important ****. It's been three years of childish nonsense that exposes how petty the left is. Add in the three year investigation and the failed impeachment and one can't blame the right for not taking the left seriously.

Hopefully they don’t advise their citizens to seek medical care in the States.
