Putting aside the fact that he released his own BC proving he was in Hawaii (something that should shut up even the braindead), did you actually even read his book or are you being consistent with taking things out of context?

Seems to be the alternate title for this whole forum.

    Trump has given nothing.

We Have become a society afraid of words. We have a good 2 generations now seem unable to deal with negative words. or what they "perceive" as negative words. Some to the point that they claim they cannot function or go about their daily business.

What is racism? I mean true bonafide racism? I will tell you what it isn't. It isn't an opinion. An opinion may come across as racist but that does not in and of itself constitute racism. If words are now taken to represent racism then there isn't a one of us that isn't a racist. We ALL are. Got it? Good!

I have to admit that i have seen pictures of Michelle Obama that bear some resemblance to an ape. My perception, my opinion. What if i said she is ugly? (or unattractive for those who "feel" the word ugly is too harsh) What about all the folks who joked about George Bush looking like a monkey? Are they racist? Or is ok to call a white guy a monkey?

As a kid when someone said something to me that hurt my feelings my mother would say "sticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you" I started learning the concept early and in my 59 years i can honestly say that on the rare occasion words do "feel" hurtful it has everything to do about me and nothing to do about the other person.

Does Michelle Obama care what i think or say about her? I sure as hell hope not. If she does then she needs to seek some good ole fashion couch time with a good therapist and learn why.

Saying Michelle Obama looks like an ape is not racism and anyone who "feels" that way should take it as an opportunity to look inward and discover why.

Well, that's the new narrative, of course. Any time anyone says something that could possibly be construed as racist, it'll be Trump's fault. Yay.

The whole point of this was that just because you have freedom of speech doesn't mean you have freedom from consequences. Saying what you want is legal, doesn't mean it's a good idea, as she learned.

I'm curious to know why you think it's a racist comment. M Obama, as far as I'm aware, is referred to as an 'ape' because of her somewhat unique facial structure. Unique to HER, not to brown women.

Those who regard these petty comments as racist, evidently feel that as white folk, they have the say so on how brown people are treated, and as white people, it's up to them to save the little brown people from the meanies. Add in her female status and you get a double header of patronising jibber jabber.

She's no more worthy of your especial white privilege 'protection' than D Trump is .. and I've seen PLENTY of nasty comments about his appearance. But then, he ain't a pet demographic, and you can't lord it over him by saving him.

You white overlords, keepers of safety and protection, deciders of what's good for brown people ... can bite me. She does look a little ape like. Actually she looks a lot ape like. My black husband has commented on it a number of times. But then he doesn't regard her any differently to any other human, male, female, white, black. He's not racist, and not sexist, like you (*)(*)(*)(*)ing progressives.

What annoys me is we can't say anything about our current First Lady without being called a RACIST. I don't think anybody ever had any issues poking fun of former First Ladies. But these days we have to walk on egg shells or we will be labeled. Remember the good ole days when poking fun of someone/anyone in public office was not off limits. The PC crowd has created a backlash that they themselves still can't see. ...oh well, whatever.

Of course it's not racism ... they use that term to express their overlord status. They are the keepers of the brown people (and women), after all. And of course it's okay to call a white guy a monkey ... he doesn't need their amazeballs protection like the little brown people do. Because for them, it's ALL about skin colour and gender. They can't think of anything else. White privilege decides what's good for everyone it personally regards as beneath it. And it personally regards ALOT of categories of human as beneath it. Like, everyone except ............ white males. Are you seeing the actual mechanics of Progressivism yet? A little understanding of how superiority complexes work will assist, if it's not clear. They will tell you it's about being in the position of power (to fix racism/sexism) but apparently have zero insight into how that SHOULD work. Hint, it's not by overlording.

    - - - Updated - - -

Because she has brown skin, she gets to be treated as a helpless pet by her white overlords (PC crowd).

And the knife comes in the shape of 'helping'. I almost prefer old school racism. Because at least it was only about skin colour ... which meant if could be reversed with a few minutes of common ground conversation.

A high priced mail order bride comes a whole lot closer to what Melania is than trying to say Michelle is an ape.

    That's interesting.

I could have sworn Trump met Melania in the US, where she had been for years before she met Trump.

Any other stupid claims I can laugh about?

For anyone interested: the above post is a fine example of what happens when one only listens to one side of an argument - ie, only listens to right wing crazy talk - and cares nothing for reality, just what suits them.

I guess part of the president elect's charm is that he doesn't have much of a filter, and that's going to have an effect on others. Yes, it really is okay to say these kinds of things. People might not like it, but that's the price to pay for free speech. You can express outrage, but that's all you can do.

Which is perfectly fine. It's just more butthurt, which is funny. Trump win reaction videos are comedic gold! So please, continue to be outraged.

No, because I leave the unhealthy, debilitating "outrage" to Trump supporters (they'll need it as Trump backtracks and flip flops on campaign promises :) ) .

I am sane enough not to be outraged by what one person in this country does.

You may not be old enough to know what it was like in the 1970's to be a black player playing football (soccer) in Europe. Here is a video showing a small number of fans, maybe less than 10, making monkey noises:

Now imagine what it would be like if there were a 1000 fans making monkey noises every time a black player was on the ball. This is what it was like for every black player in the professional soccer league in England. If a player was near enough bananas were also thrown at him. Is this scenario racist?
